sweet quatre epices
A classic French blend used in a similar way to mixed spices. The blend is stronger and more pungent than mixed spice as it lacks the milder sweet spices such as coriander and cassia, but adds a distinct spiciness, colour and a dark and mysterious depth of flavour.
uses: Add a pinch to cakes - particularly dark fruitcakes, biscuits or desserts.
