origin: cambodia Recently brought to mainstream attention in Rick Steins recent tv series, kampot pepper was famed for decades as one of the finest peppers anywhere in the world. Production virtually stopped during the government of Pol Pot and kampot pepper was slowly forgotten. Kampot pepper has a fantastic fresh taste and a really beautiful haunting incensy smell. It's got very little of that musky dusty scent you often find in black pepper and has a lovely bright, fruity flavour that's deceptively hot. Highly recommended!! uses: Use in place of black pepper, particularly with seafood.
