Spice Notes

Origin: Croatia

Clear, fresh and pine like in flavour the juniper berries are intensely aromatic when crushed and added to your cooking. The distinctive scent of juniper is immediately reminiscent of gin. It is the only spice that comes from a conifer and is in fact a pine cone with a fleshy covering.  


A popular flavouring in central Europe, particularly in Alpine regions where juniper flavours anything from roast pork, goose, apples and of course the famous cabbage dish, sauerkraut.
