Tripling up...

When I started at the Spicery nearly 2 years ago, there were usually between 6 and 8 mouths to feed. We'd sit round our 2 Ikea tables quite comfortably, no elbows banging together and plenty of food to go round. By the time we'd moved to our new Bristol premises the permanent staff number had increased to 12 and the 2 Ikea tables have multipled to become 10 (see below)

Our very long table with a teeny tiny Suze sat at the end

And today we had a record number to eat.....22 people in total (plus 2 away which according to my maths means we've tripled in numbers) and every seat around the table occupied!

Here are some of our new faces (in no particular order after Jess who's the only permanent member (so far!)) with names and favourite dish in brackets

Jess (spaghetti puttanesca)

And a little more info on Bristol born Jess. Aka the PA, aka chief email answerer aka assistant spicerer (James lets us choose our own job titles which is a slightly dangerous game I think). Jess is an aspiring writer and hopes to one day be Amazon's top fantastical realism author. At home she likes to cook in the style of Ottolenghi and her favourite countries she's visited are New Zealand and Spain. Drinkswise she's a Malborough Sauvingnon Blanc kinda gal (oh, and ANYTHING red).

The rest of the gang (keep scrolling down, it's a long list!)

Melanie (Thai Curry)

Brendah (Baked fish with herbs & lemon and rice)

Trang (Sticky Rice)

Pascal (rice and stir-fry meat and veg)

Nakul (Steak)

Keep going, you're nearly at the finish line.....

Thanh (biscuits)

Sonia (Hainanese chicken rice)

Chris (Thai Green Curry)

Ruolin (Ma Pa Tofu)

John (jerk chicken) - deftly demonstrating how supersize everything we have to order is these days!

Phew, glad that's over! Hopefully the free lunch will encourage them all to stay around until Christmas and beyond...

Ps I'm sorry if I left anyone out or spelt any names wrong!
