The Turkish city of Istanbul which lies on the border of Europe and Asia is a melting pot of cultures and cuisines, making the food there some of the best in the world! To begin we’ve got sigara borek, delicious flaky cheese pastries served with a spicy pepper paste and cooling mint yogurt. For the main event Turkey’s most famous export, the kebab (or kebap as it would be spelt there) - this version is flavoured with rich Urfa chilli flakes and is served with a delicious sumac, parsley and red onion salad. Finally, baklava, a much-loved Middle Eastern dessert made up of layers of sweet, sticky filo pastry and nuts drenched in a honey syrup flavoured with cinnamon, cardamon and rose petals.
