Here it’s served with rice flavoured with allspice and thyme, and cooling coleslaw on the side. To round everything off we’ve got some fruity and tangy hibiscus cheesecakes complete with a spiced butter biscuit base!

  • 2 chicken legs
  • 1 medium carrot
  • ¼ small white cabbage
  • 1 bunch of spring onions
  • 25g butter
  • 80ml double or whipping cream
  • 75g cream cheese (full fat is best)
  • 2 heaped tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 egg (any size)
  • 45g digestive biscuits or hobnobs
  • 50g sugar
  • 198g tin of sweetcorn
  • 70g self-raising flour
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (any type)
  • 3 tbsp vinegar (white wine or cider vinegar is best)
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 150g standard long grain or basmati rice
  • Oil for frying (sunflower or vegetable oil is best)

Probably the best date night box to date. The fritters were brilliant and we loved the main. I’ve had the dessert before and it is always lovely and this was no exception
