Hungarian Langos ~ Goulash with Pickles
Description | This month we’re in Central Europe for some hearty and warming Hungarian food. To begin we’ve got a fried bread known as langos, a typical street food served topped with garlicky sour cream, mushrooms, bacon and grated cheese. No meal in Hungary would be complete without a pickle or two and here we’ve got some fiery cucumber pickles to add tang and heat. Next is the classic dish of Hungary, goulash - a simple soup or stew of diced meat, onions, potatoes, peppers and (crucially) the famous Hungarian paprika. These few simple ingredients really allow the fantastic sweet flavour and rich colour of the paprika to shine through. |

Awesome
26g of paprika in a recipe for only 4 people! I'll make the goulash again but use half the amount. Loved the pickled cucumber as a side & I'll definitely make this again as it's a revelation in a ham sandwich.
It's great to hear how much you loved the pickled cucumber, but I'm sorry if you found the paprika in the goulash a bit overwhelming - this is a distinctive feature of Hungarian dishes!
Fantastic. The langos and toppings was super tasty and the goulash was also wonderful.
We're so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed this taste of hearty and warming Hungarian food, Anna!
