This bread is from southern Iraq, and you can see the influence of the ancient Moghul empire as it’s very similar to Indian naan bread, which is also cooked quickly in a tandoor oven until it puffs up with those familiar blackened bubbles on the surface. It’s a great one to wrap a kebab, or tear off pieces to dip into mezze.

Lovely. Really appreciating The Spicery's bread recipes, they are easy for a beginner like me to make and taste amazing! So much better when freshly made. Laffa is one of my favourites. This was made with half white/half wholemeal and made a lovely accompaniment to the Carrot & Lentil soup. The way it puffs up is very satisfying to watch!

This laffa looks great, it's browned up beautifully! Nice work adapting the recipe to use 2 different types of flour, too. We bet this tasted delicious mopping up your Mezze Legend soup!
