We were having some friends over for dinner and wanted to make something special but not spend all night in the kitchen so we made most of this in advance and then just popped it in the oven. Quite a long involved recipe, but not difficult. The end result was very delicious (we went for lamb mince to be most authentic shepherds) but I didn't give 5 stars as my bloke thought there was a very horrid smell when it was cooking which made him feel queasy. It was kind of strange (I did notice it too) and must have been the combination of spices or the ingredients with the meat? Once cooked and in the pot there was no issue and our guests were impressed.

It's great to hear how much you loved this end result of this recipe, but we're sorry to hear that you found the smell unpleasant whilst cooking. We think this might just be a general thing when cooking lamb mince, as opposed to something specific to this combination of spices. We're glad the taste of the finished dish was good enough to remedy the situation, though!

Legendary recipe! I found it incredibly easy to make and tasted delicious. The Qarfa adds a lovely sweet fragrance. I was so excited and ate it so quickly I forgot to take a picture!! Will be having it plenty of times again. I'm very lucky an average guy like me can make so something like this - thank you Spicery!

That's so wonderful to hear Richard! So glad that you enjoyed cooking this one.
