Sumac is a popular seasoning for chicken in Palestine, and this dish (known as musakhan) is a national favourite. Marinated chicken is served on a bed of softened onions and flatbread - the tangy flavour of sumac works brilliantly with the rich, salty chicken and the soft, sweet onions.

We had a spicey Sunday Dinner with Sumac Chicken, Batata Hara potatoes, carrot stew and green beans. A truly delicious and fun alternative to a standard Sunday Roast. Sunac chicken (as with all these dishes) would be a fab for a barbeque in the summer too.....plus you can prep the marinading chicken ahead of time. Thank you Spicery Team.

This looks like a wonderful alternative Sunday lunch - all the classic components of a roast dinner but spiced up Mezze-Legend-style! We love it!
