Inspired by the romantic Moroccan cities of Marrakesh and Casablanca, this Valentine’s meal takes your taste buds on a tour of the colourful cuisine of Morocco. The flavours there are a fine balance of sweetness and fragrant spices - including allspice, cassia and cardamon - which produces a refined cuisine that’s famous the world over. To begin we’ve got vegetable pastries known as briouats served with a spicy rose petal harissa. Next chermoula grilled lamb chops with saffron couscous and a spring vegetable tagine. Finally, to refresh the palate an orange salad topped with rose petals and some filo and almond biscuits on the side.

I didn't do the whole meal due to not having all the ingredients, but I made the Chermoula lamb chops, tagine and couscous - they were all fabulous and really easy to do. Will definitely be making those again! I'll make the brouiat for a wine snack on a future occasion though... really pleased with my spice box this month!

We loved this meal - perfect for Valentine's day! The meal was quite a lot of work to put together but was well worth it. The vegetable briouats were similar to Indian samosas but with Moroccan spice. Served with rose petal harissa they were delicious. The chemoula lamb was really tasty, served with a vegetable tagine and saffron couscous. Our favourite course, however, was the orange and date salad served with filo and almond biscuits. Absolutely wonderful! Would thoroughly recommend

There's nothing more romantic than a sprinkling of rose petals! These dishes look gorgeous, and it's lovely to hear that this taste of Morocco was the perfect setting for your Valentine's evening!

What a wonderful flavour packed meal. We couldn't have gone out and had a better meal. We used chicken thighs, not lamb, the flavours worked great.

How rewarding to cook something yourself that's as good (if not better) than a meal you'd get in a restaurant! Nice job!
