Shab Deg is a simple stew from Kashmir, northern India, in which lamb kofta (meatballs) are baked in a thick sauce with diced lamb and winter veg. Made with beef instead of lamb. A lovely one pot, warming winter stew. The yogurt marinade made the meat lovely and tender. Would serve with green veg next time

Looks like a perfect winter warmer, Laura - great job!

I’m no cook. Wanted to impress my gf - actually went to the village butcher for the proper meat - found the recipe easy to follow, and the results were outstanding. Really nice, comforting, yummy food. And yes, she was impressed :-)

Thanks for your lovely review, Graham - we're so pleased to hear that you found the recipe simple to follow and that you both enjoyed the results. No doubt she'll have you in the kitchen again before long!
