The accompanying joke, however, is as ‘hilarious’ as ever, and is sure to have you rolling on the floor (or perhaps just rolling your eyes!).
From classic Indian curries like butter chicken and dhansak, to more unusual curries from Ghana, Trinidad, South Africa and beyond - just add a few fresh ingredients to create a delicious dish! What's more, all of these recipes are veggie-friendly!

Dear Spicery, I have just received my curry advent calendar via mail and couldn't wait to see what was inside! I haven't tried any of the curries yet, but just thought you should be commended on the beautiful presentation, as well as what I believe to be the excellent value for money. Thank you.
This was a fantastic dish to kick off Day 1of our Cracking Curry Christmas Advent Calendar!
Wow! Such an impressive start - those naans look fantastic!
We have been given the Spicery advent calendar as a gift for the past three years and love how it introduces us to new recipes, new flavours and cooking techniques. We've made a lot of this year's curries already and the Keema Matar and Butter Chicken have been real hits, but everything has tasted good. The spices are always perfectly balanced and they taste great the next day too, if you have left overs. I did like that there were some sweet recipes in last year's calendar (the panpepato was a favourite that we are going to recreate again this year), whereas this year's calendar is all curries. I would also like a few more purely veggie curries in future calendars as there were a couple of meat curries in this year's calendar that didn't have any suggested veggie alternatives at all and the recipes don't have cooking instructions for the veggie ingredients, only the meat ones (which are too long for the veggie ones). We will definitely be getting the calendars in the future though, regardless!

We bought this calendar as a gift to ourselves this Christmas. It's the curry that keeps on giving... we have been taking our time opening each window, telling 'bad' jokes and cooking up impressive flavourful meals. Such a great idea, thanks!
