Recipe kits in production get taken home by staff as part of the testing process – here’s the most recent feedback! The finished products will become available over the coming months, so keep an eye out! Andrea tried out our new fusion style Naan Burger... To be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of burgers. However, it seems like a burger craze has taken over the UK at the moment and I knew this particular kit would go over well at home with my burger-loving husband. I was excited to make the naan buns myself as I’d enjoyed them so much when I tried them at work - to my surprise they turned out great! Even though I thought my poorly year-old yeast would be dead. Alas, it was alive and active and the buns were fluffy and well-risen. There were quite a few accompaniments containing vinegar which I wasn’t sure my trusty assistant would enjoy (seeing as he HATES vinegar). They were all easy and straight-forward enough to prepare though, and the lamb patties took only minutes to cook. Overall, no disasters to report and  the burger and chips went over better than I could have hoped (including ALL the sides!) and we even had leftovers for the following night’s meal. After last months testing of the World of Chilli subscription, the Goa edition - my rekindled love of staff testing continued this month with the slightly more gentle sounding Flowers, Herbs and Aromatic subscription - 'Europe edition'. The meal was a far cry from the painful experience of the hottest curry I'd ever eaten. My guests were suitably impressed with the herby roast lamb, nutmeggy dauphinoise and juniper flavoured redcurrant sauce - it was all a bit more subtle than our usual Spicery style food but perfect for a mothering Sunday springtime meal. The real hit was the dessert though - creamy, lemon and elderflower possets and some interesting (and delicious!) long pepper and lavender biscuits. Unfortunately I forgot to set the timer so they went a bit beyond golden but they all got snaffled up nonetheless! 20151122_181422 20151122_18581020151122_193226
