Biryani is a staple on Indian restaurant menus and the perfect dish for sharing.

The key element is sealing the cooking dish tightly so the rice cooks in the fragrant steam and when opened at the table guests can savour the beautiful aromas.

Properly delicious and worth the effort!

This looks amazing, Lauren - we are so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed it!

5/5

Despite taking a long time this recipe was surprisingly simple to follow, and we made so much that it was perfect for leftovers as well. The crunch of the oniony top layer went perfectly with the fluffy rice, and it was a nice treat to find the eggs and potatoes as we dug in.

Yum - looks delicious, Charlotte! It's great to hear that the long cook time was worth the wait, and that you enjoyed digging through the rice for the egg and potato treasure (with leftovers to spare)!
