Lecso is the vegetarian cousin of the famous stews of Hungary - goulash, porkolt and paprikas. It's a bit like the French dish ratatouille, a delicious pepper and tomato stew, seasoned with lots of vibrant Hungarian paprika. It's often served simply with bread but here we're making some delicious caraway flavoured potato pancakes, dill pickled mushrooms and a herby sour cream to accompany it. For dessert we've got rétes, the Hungarian version of strudel - layers of buttery filo pastry filled with cherries and poppy seeds and finished with a cinnamon sugar.

Easily one of the best kits we've had in the last 18 months! The Lecso was delicious and worked really well with the accompanying items, we swapped the pickled mushrooms for carrots but this worked well. The Rétes was delicious and was the perfect way to finish the meal!

WOW this looks fantastic! Great shout using carrots, one for us to try ourselves!
