Sri Lankan Roast Beef
Roast beef and all the trimmings - Sri Lankan style...
Our first autumnal roast takes us to Sri Lanka for some delicious spice-crusted beef and all the usual sides with a Spicery twist on the flavours. Warming cinnamon and mustard seeds are two spices that are key to the cooking of Sri Lanka and both feature here in the beef’s spice crust and the curried squash gravy.
For those that love a dollop of hot horseradish on their beef we’ve got a traditional chilli sauce known as lunu miris or for something a bit milder a cooling coconut sambol. Finally, the obligatory Yorkshire pudding is turned bright gold with the addition of turmeric and flavoured with more mustard seeds and curry leaves.
