We go all out at Christmas here at The Spicery!

Along with our annual "Decembake" (A baked treat every day of December), Christmas is an opportunity for our chefs Matt and Alice to experiment; testing ideas and new flavours...

As with staff birthdays year round, we enjoy a twist on a classic dish to celebrate the occasion! We've had Indian, Mexican, Jamaican and Chinese style Christmas roasts in the past. This year however, Alice and Matt decided to go for a less obvious and more daring fusion, Malaysian!

For the main event, a Feng* Stuffed Turkey (the vegetarians amongst us enjoyed Cauliflower and Almond Parcels!), doused in Nonya curry gravy.

A twist on the classic Gado Gado salad with roasted potatoes, squash and sprouts- all tossed together in a peanut sauce.

Pigs in blankets satay style!
Along with the peanut satay, there were plenty of other sauces to be had here! A Star Anise Carrot Puree, Chilli Sambal and Nutmeg Bread Sauce helped to balance the crunchy fresh Red Cabbage Kerabu.

And so with satisfyingly stuffed stomachs, another Christmas lunch is complete.

Until next year!
