The streets of Bangkok are a sensory overload, packed with some of the tastiest food in the world! Fragrant herbs such as kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass combine with spices like turmeric, coriander and cumin and ferocious chillies to complete the heady mix of flavours. To begin we’ve got an iconic Thai dish - fish cakes served with a sweet chilli sauce and a tangy salad. The main event is a panang curry - in Thailand, versions of this curry would be cooked at street stalls known as ‘khao gaeng’ (which translates as curry-on-rice) along with 10-20 other types of freshly cooked curry every day. To finish the meal we have a sweet, jasmine-infused sticky rice and lightly spiced mango dessert.

We cooked this to celebrate our wedding anniversary it was very appropriate as we visited Thailand on our honeymoon. The fishcakes were tasty and very easy to make. The chilli sauce went so well. The Penang curry the was tasty as always but was made superb by the Nam Prik. We love the sticky rice and mango it was so tasty and brought back memories. It was like sunshine in a dessert.

What a lovely way to celebrate your anniversary - it is so nice to hear that this dish brought back happy memories of your honeymoon in Thailand. Happy spicing!

Amazing fresh flavours in the mango salad with a sweet spicy chilli sauce. Delicious panang curry made with tofu for a veggie version and comforting coconut sticky rice to finish. Wasn’t so sure about the mint nam prik but overall loved this date night.

How lovely to be able to enjoy your date night al fresco! We're really pleased to hear that you loved this meal, and great job adapting the recipe to make a veggie version - it sounds delicious. Sorry that you weren't so keen on the mint nam prik. Happy spicing!
