Chennai is known as the gateway to South India and the local food reflects its location on the coast of Bay of Bengal with lots of seafood, coconut, rice and dried chillies. This fish curry is characterised by its deep intense flavour and rich colour from dried chillies, a tangy flavour from the tamarind and a real depth created by toasting some of the spices. We’re serving it with kurma, a delicious vegetable dish flavoured with white poppy seeds, coconut and yogurt and a cooling pineapple pachadi. For dessert, there’s a fabulous pink rose petal and cardamon flavoured strawberry kulfi for a delicious end to a spectacular South Indian feast!
