The spectacular food eaten in Goa is familiarly Indian but with cooking techniques and ingredients (such as vinegar and chillies) introduced by the Portuguese who colonially ruled there for 450 years. To begin we’ve got prawn cafreal served with coconut pancakes, mango raita and a cucumber and radish salad. Next, a dish showcasing the Portuguese influence - chilli chorizo fry and a mustard seed and mint pilau. Finally, some moreish Indian snacks known as sooji gujiya, the sweet version of samosas, filled with mango and coconut and coated in a sweet, tangy chaat masala.

First time trying this spicery. Loved every minute of the 2 hour prep work, all to be demolished in 15 minutes - fantastic home date night idea

Amazing flavours, easy to make and fun time spent together ❤️ #Spicerysports

Looks like a delicious date night, happy spicing!

This didn’t do it for me. The prawns were only ok. The main wasn’t very nice as the chorizo just didn’t work in that dish in my opinion. The dessert was the worst. I didn’t even finish those.

We're sorry to hear that this meal didn't do it for you, thanks for your feedback!

Best part about this was the dessert. The mango coconut filling was super tasty. Everything else was good, but not inspired

Glad you enjoyed this, looks like a delicious combination of flavours!

This is my third "Date Night" and what a delicious banquet it was. Really broadened my awareness of exotic spices. Can't wait to use the free sample to make a tomato chutney too!

Looks like a brilliant banquet to us- all you need is a view of palm trees and the Arabian Sea in the background and you could be on a beautiful beach in Goa!

Started great (prawns) but got worse as it went on. The desert was a real disappointment - stodgy.

Glad you enjoyed the prawns and we're so sorry you didn't enjoy the rest! I have passed your feedback on to the recipe developers and in the meantime if you get in touch with us via email, we can arrange sending you something else you might prefer!

The pastries were delicious and so easy. Once again a very tasty dinner!

Wow this looks incredible, plus we love the pretty patterned crockery!
