To the south of Mumbai on the west coast of India lies a 720km stretch of rugged, unspoilt coastline - a lush, sparsely-populated region dotted with ruined palaces and coconut trees. Here we have a green chicken curry (hara murgh) cooked in the traditional Konkani way, with plenty of fresh green herbs and finished with yogurt. On the side is a stir-fried cabbage dish called thoran along with dosas (a kind of Indian pancake) and a spiced yellow rice sprinkled with methe hittu - a fragrant powder of ground spices and lentils perfect for rounding off this delicious spread.

Part of an absolutely delicious curry feast! The onion dosas were spectacular and something a bit different. We loved how every part of the meal complemented each other perfectly - another Spicery win!

This looks like a fabulous feast, Katie, and so beautifully presented in your silver bowls! We're really pleased to hear how much you loved each element, and the way they came together. Happy spicing!

Too minty and corriandery for my liking

Sorry to hear that this wasn't your cup of tea - this dish does contain a lot of herbs which might not be to everyone's taste!

My favourite curry with great combination of sides.

This looks great, Emma - well done! And that balti bowl for the curry is gorgeous, as is the heart-shaped slate!

Loved the curry and the beetroot - the chapatis weren't what we imagined (might have been our cooking!!)

Delicious, interesting and tangy. Loved the use of tamarind and fresh coriander and mint. Dosas were easy and tasty, but for me the star was the deeply spicy cucumber and coconut chutney. Our compliments to the taste creator!!

So glad you enjoyed the meal! Hope to see your next Spicery creations too, Happy Spicing!

The curry and rice were delicious. For me, the cucumber was too spicy. I couldn't quite work out how the onion danos should be as they weren't a bread or a pancake but the flavour was superb.

Glad you enjoyed the flavours in this one, sorry to hear you found the cucumber a bit too spicy! Thanks for your feedback about the dosas they are a kind of Indian pancake, if you ever have any questions about a recipe or would like specific advice about part of a recipe you can email us or contact us on social media and our recipe developers will be more than happy to advise, happy spicing!
