Nigella
Also known as 'kalonji' or mistakenly as black onion seeds, nigella seeds are jet black and have a delicious earthy, nutty flavour. Probably most familiar as the black seeds in naan bread, nigella seeds are widely used across India in chutneys, vegetable dishes and many curries.

USES: Toast the seeds and add to a salad for texture and a spicy nutty flavour. Use in conjunction with mustard and coriander seeds to coat roast meats or vegetables. Add to bread dough or savoury pastry.

1 tbsp refill = approx 7 grams
4 tbsp refill = approx 32 grams (fits standard supermarket spice jar)
8 tbsp refill = approx 63 grams (fits Spicery stackable tins)

My order was delivered within a couple of days, packaged so it could drop through the letter box. Everything I ordered was included. I have ordered from The Spicery for the past 2 or 3 years and find their service excellent, their spices always very fresh and beautifully packaged. They are great value for money too and I would recommend them to anyone.
They've been great in naan bread. One day I'd love to grow my own nigella seeds, but until that day, I'll be buy my nigella seeds from the Spicery.
These are an ingredient for the spicery recipe naan breads recipe. We now make our own and are the best naan breads we have ever tasted

This is another product we purchased after first receiving a free sample. Having made our own naan breads using The Spicery's recipe we just can't bring ourselves to buy ready made again. Fantastic aroma and flavour from the Nigella seeds and a recipe that is a pleasure to make.
