Ras el Hanout is a North African spice blend which loosely translates as 'top of the shop', or 'top shelf', in reference to the best spices the shop has to offer. The exact recipes are a closely guarded secret with some blends including as many as 20 ingredients.
USES: Add 1 tbsp to a simple tagine or mix 2 tsp with the juice of 1/2 a lemon, 1 tbsp of oil and 1/2 tsp salt and use as a marinade for chicken or fish for 4.
INGREDIENTS: Cardamon seeds, cassia, bay leaves, allspice, fennel seeds, caraway seeds, long pepper, cubeb pepper, rose petals, lavender, black pepper, cumin, mace, black cardamon, coriander, rose petals, cayenne pepper, sweet paprika, turmeric, galangal, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, saffron
Allergens are listed in CAPITALS. May contain sesame, celery and mustard
1 tbsp refill = approx 8 grams
4 tbsp refill = approx 30 grams (fits standard supermarket spice jar)
8 tbsp refill = approx 55 grams (fits Spicery stackable tins)
Packaging format:
All our spicestore ingredients are now sold as refills and come in compostable bags (made from wood pulp), so just decant the contents into your existing spice jars or Spicery stackable tins and dispose of the bag in your compost and food waste bin!

Very tasty - makes excellent Tagine.
