Reshmi kebabs are a dish of Moghul origin whose Persian-inspired cuisine was intricate and expensive to prepare. This was due in part to their use of costly ingredients such as meat, cream, nuts and spices. These kebabs are now eaten throughout northern India and Pakistan which is where we get the inspiration for the rest of the side dishes: dum aloo - a potato dish flavoured with tangy tamarind - a fruity chaat salad and sweet tomato chutney. Homemade buttery saffron parathas complete this incredibly colourful and flavoursome spread.

This was a great kit - good value for money especially as I bought it in the sale. Lots of different flavours and easy to follow instructions. Definitely not a quick and easy dinner with all the different components; however, it made an excellent Saturday evening dinner. The fruit chaat was a tasty contrast to the spicy chilli chutney - which had a bit too much heat for me. The potatoes were a good mixture of flavour and texture. We re-heated the left-overs the next day with some butter and so made two meals from them. Likewise, the left-over parathas made a good breakfast! Be care rolling them out - the saffron stained my worktop for several days. Next time I will use a board. Overall a good experience with my first meal kit from The Spicery.

It's great to hear how much you enjoyed this recipe as a whole - our spiceboxes are certainly not a quick or easy meal, but we hope you felt that it was worth the effort of producing this feast! Sorry about the saffron-stained worktop (oops!) - thank you for your feedback on this!

Fantastic combination of flavours, and we'd never thought parathas could be so easy to make!

It's brilliant to hear you enjoyed this flavourful dish and perfect parathas!
