Here we have a Yorkshire pudding-style hopper (a Sri Lankan pancake) turned bright gold with the addition of turmeric and topped with beef smore - the Sri Lankan version of pot roast beef - plus a delicious coconut dhal. Cinnamon and mustard seeds are two spices that are key to the cooking of Sri Lanka and both are used to season the rich gravy in which the beef is cooked. On the side are a few Sri Lankan staples - mallung (shredded greens, stir-fried with mustard seeds, chilli, turmeric and cumin), a cooling coconut chutney and a spicy chilli sauce known as lunu miris.

An amazing meal and really easy to prepare. Delicious flavours.

We're glad this one hit the spot! Happy Spicing!

A different Sunday dinner. It's still sort of beef with Yorkshire Pudding, but it tastes sensational. I even got my very fussy stepson to try the dhal (which he loved). We fought over who got the last quarter of hopper and eventually had to split it into 3.

We're so pleased to hear that this alternative Sunday roast went down a treat will the whole family! Of course, you've got to fight over that last bit of delicious hopper!

Lovely flavours with the dhal, green veg and lunu miris. I used fable mushrooms instead of beef. Despite being from Yorkshire I’m not a fan of Yorkshire puddings so I will use rice next time.

A Yorkshire native that doesn't like Yorkshire puddings?! We can't believe it!! Were so pleased to hear that you still enjoyed the flavours in this Sri Lankan dish - and great job adapting the recipe to make a veggie version.

The ultimate combination! A proud Yorkshireman that fell in love with Sri Lanka whilst travelling. The beef smore was well worth the long cooking time, coconut dhal took us back to Galle and the spicy Luna Miris set the tongue tingling. Would recommend for all curry fans! If the Yorkshire Pudding Hopper spice is ever released separately I will be on it!

Thanks for your wonderful review, it's great to hear you enjoyed this fantastic fusion of flavours!

This is amazing! So tasty, not too hot without the lunu miris, so the kids had it too. I have just ordered more.

Thanks for your lovely review, Rhian - we're so happy to hear that this went down a treat with the whole family!

This was an incredible combination of texture and taste. Brilliantly spiced to be tingly but not painful and real fun to make. One of the best we've had in two years of being in the club!

This looks great, Jon - we're so happy to hear that this has been one of your favourite boxes to make and eat!
