Absolutely gorgeous. Made it with lamb in the slow cooker. Got a big thumbs up from the family
This was so much fun preparing! The smells during the cooking process were devine. The meat eaters in our family devoured this dish. We would love to have a meat free alternative recipe, especially with veg instead of meat replacements. This dish would also be great as part of a bigger Greek meal.
Great job with this delicious Greek stifado! For a veggie version, we recommend using aubergine in place of the beef. If you'd be interested in cooking stifado as part of a bigger spread of food, we can really recommend checking out our How to Be a Mezze Legend Cookbook Kit (which also gives veggie alternatives for loads of the recipes!)
I made this without the salad - it is November after all. It was a lovely hearty warming dish. The large coins of carrot added something homely. We had green beans and basmati rice with it. It went down a treat. The left overs (as usual) tasted even better the next day. Yes, I will make this again. Good hearty fodder for the colder months.
We think this spectacular Stifado is delicious any time of year, it's great to hear you enjoyed it!
