The Canela Blend adds a touch of sweetness and balances chilli heat or sourness from vinegar or lime in our Taco Legend recipes. Also try using in place of mixed spice in baking, or even in place of cinnamon or garam masala in a curry - it’s a really useful ingredient in all sorts of unexpected places! We've blended cinnamon with freshly ground allspice (also known as Jamaica pepper or pimento) which grows wild around the Caribbean and Latin America, cloves, aniseed (which is widely used in Mexico, particularly in baking) and bitter orange powder (a key ingredient particularly in the south of the country) to make a lovely sweet-scented blend that's as much at home in desserts as it is flavouring savoury food.
