First vindaloo and was not disappointed. Will definitely be having this again
Friday night friends night. Butter chicken Balti saag aloo and pilau rice. All excellent so tasty and just the right amount of spice. My husband loves cooking your curries and we love eating them.
My brother combined his curry legends recipes to cook up an Indian feast of chicken Tikka Masala, lamb Tikka Madras, saag aloo and homemade naan breads. All of which were amazing!
This goes with my previous post - my brother cooking up his naan breads to go with our Indian feast.
Karachi chicken, pilau rice, saag paneer and chutneys all tasted wonderful. the chilli garlic chutney in particular was a favourite that I will be making again!
Lamb lababdar curry with thoran and chapatis - delicious!
I made the chicken capfreal with aloo chat and tomato chutney It was so nice I’d make this again
This kit is a great idea for the casual cooker of curries and am gradually working my through the recipes and not been disappointed yet. Just ordered my first refill of the spices. On a technical issue I wish the book was produced using a spiral back as trying to hold it open on the right page is almost impossible leading to spicey finger marks in several places!
Vegetable pakora, tomato chutney, chicken madras, jeera rice and chapatis. Fabulous!
Korma curry the Welsh way with half rice, half chips
Saag Gosht with Tarka Dhal. Delicious food from wonderful recipes in fabulous books.
Got the book How to be a Curry Legend as a thank you gift and made the prawn Dhansak with Jeera rice and chilli garlic chutney straight away - the smells emanating even just from opening the spice tins was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to try them all!
Perfect evening with our chapati jalfrezi and rogan josh
Such a great book! Just like the others ! Looking forward to the next one that I already preordered and hoping that one day you'll release a soup book ;-)
We used black urid beans in our dal which gave it a ridiculously rich texture - went perfect with our chole bhature, carrot salad and chana chaat (and homemade roti recipe!)
Very easy to cook, tastes delicious and looks just like the picture in the Curry Legend Book, very pleased and look forward to cooking this recipe again soon.
So tasty! Very authentic and delicious
Amazing. Nice to have a not so saucy curry. Totally delicious!
Deliciously creamy with a jazzy kick of spice to it. Lovely.
Tandoori chicken, plain rice, mango chuntney and aloo chaat :-)
Amazing! We have not eaten in an Indian or ordered takeaway since being gifted this book after attending a masterclass in Bristol. Why woPuld we when the curries we make are out of this world. Dinner party: madras, geera, cucumber raita, cachumber, carrot pickle, green chutney, mango chutney, Dahl, jeera rice, poppadoms & naan. Heaven... And we converted our friends!
Following some delicious Spicery dishes I've been served by friends, I'm now the proud owner of a Curry Legend cookbook and spices! First curry adventure was great success, with the whole family involved in cooking Chicken Jalfrezi, Kachumber, Dahl and Kale Subji. :) Top marks for the recipes (and top marks to the chefs!).
Just another Friday tea time for 2! With my favourite sweet potato dhansak (well it would be butternut but they’re not in season just now). A great standby/ quick and easy meal, so full of flavour. A tasty kachumber to keep it company.
Tandoori chicken skewers and sizzling peppers and onions
This was delicious, butter chicken, lamb balti and saag paneer. Enjoyed so much by our friends that they were going home to try and cook them.
Just a midweek meal, pretty simple to make but absolutely amazing. Delicious with cod. I don’t know what we would live off if we didn’t have the curry legend book. Makes tea time easy and tasty. Thankful for the spicery, amazing people making amazing recipes and blends.
Best curry I have cooked so far - and so easy
Chicken korma with jeera rice and chapatis. Another fantastic recipe from The Spicery!
I made Seekh Kebabs, with Kachumber, Cucumber Raita and Mint Raita from the Curry Legend Cookbook for our first bbq of the summer. Everyone enjoyed them, will definitely be making them again :-)
Chicken Korma Night....delicious & enjoyed by the whole family!
Delicious with rice and sweet naan bread.
Another favourite of ours - chicken bhuna, with chana masala, jeera rice and paratha. This was our first time trying jeera rice, and we switched to red onions, rather than white onions! Wowsers! It was delicious, and we'll definitely switch rices more frequently. Think we went a bit full on with carbs though! After having vegetable pakoras to start, with tomato raita, I don't think I'll need to eat until curry night next week. The children enjoyed their favourite curry, Butter Chicken. So glad they now participate in our curry nights. All these were from the Curry Legend Book. The Spicery never fails with taste!
A feast! Chicken Balti, Tarka Dhal, lemon rice, lemon raita, thoran and naan breads. Always so delicious!
Saag Gosht, Brinjal Bhaji, Gobi Aloo and Saag Paneer all made using the How to be a Curry Legend Cookbook and Spices. Can't decide which recipe I like the most :-) Love all the blends
Amazing to come in to find Ellie had made the bhuna all by herself...and rocking out to her favourite band at the same time!
A great way to use up some leftovers - thakkali curry, thoran, tarka dhal and chapatis. Yum!
Lamb dopiaza recipe from the curry legends book adapted for 1 person using chicken. Delish!
You can be a Curry Legend even when you go camping! I love packing my spices and the book so we can rustle up a tasty curry on the camp site.
You can be a Curry Legend even when you go camping! I love packing my spices and the book so we can rustle up a tasty curry on the camp site. Achari chicken is a great recipe to try.
Our legend! Toda's menu: Mangalore Fish Curry, Bombay Potatoes and Tarka Dhal. It all smelled wonderful and tasted delicious. We have always been a curry loving family and making the recipes with fresh ingredients and with the ‘ingenious’ curry spice blends (from the How to be a Curry Legend Kit) means healthy and truly mouth-watering curry fun!

Dopiaza, rice & chipattis ❤️ Curry legend has transformed my curry nights
All the recipes are delicious! This is a mix of an easy kit and curry legend recipes
This curry was just amazing!!
Rajasthani laal Maas we used beef and wow! It certainly packs a punch!!
Curry legends in France! Lamb rogan josh, chicken pathia, Bombay potatoes, onion bhaji and chapatis. Delicious!
My wife bought me this for an anniversary present and what a great gift it has been. I am 56 years old and have never really cooked much but the way you have designed the Curry Legend kit is absolutely brilliant and you make the recipes clear and easy to follow even for a novice like me. Also the combination of spices are mouth-wateringly delicious!. Since cooking your meals we are no longer able to purchase “take away” curries as they are not as good as what I can accomplish at home with your help. So thanks to you and your Team of obviously dedicated people for providing an excellent product. Lee Murphy
Tasty, quick & easy! The saag paneer from CurryLegend is one of the best I've had!
Keralan Salmon Bombay potatoes Chana masala Brinjal bhaji aka Aubergine Nom nom
Chana Masala with a side of Chilli Garlic Chutney and chapati. The Chana Masala is delicious and so easy to make. Great meal for Meat Free Mondays. The Chilli Garlic Chutney is my favourite - i'm constantly running out of Mirchi Blend because of it.
Chickpea curry mixed with other random ingredients as nothing would boil. #alpscampchallenges
Amazingly easy, this was our first go at the recipes, we also made Bombay potatoes, paratha and mint raita - yum!!
Spicing it up in the alps. Improvised chana masala to warm us up
Bombay potatoes and I decided to have a prawn pathia ! Scrummy! My first attempt....I’ve done a rogan josh since and that was yummy too!
The curry legend recipes and spices are so versatile! Here’s a Korma from the vegetarian book, using aubergine in place of the cauliflower!
My favourites! Saag paneer with a side of brinjal bhaji (aubergine) and tomato chutney!
Top dish is slow cooked pheasant Vindaloo, then tarka dhal, and brinjal Bhaji My greedy diners couldn’t wait and got stuck in before I took the photo. All great stuff, thanks Spicery for changing our palates.
Amazing banquet of butter chicken, pilau rice, naan bread, onion bhaji, mushroom bhaji and saag paneer!
Wow, I never thought I’d be able to cook restaurant-standard Indian food at home! The recipes were really clear to work through and I was able to easily make all the recipes vegan-friendly. Behold: tandoori tofu skewers, Bombay potatoes, butter ‘chicken’, pilau rice, chapatis, kachumber salad and THE BEST ONION BHAJIS IN THE WORLD!
Curry Legend - Lamb Rogan Josh and Saag Paneer. Plus a favourite Winter Warmer Curry from last years advent calendar
A firm favourite with family and friends
Chicken instead of lamb but another fantastic recipe, obvs I take all the credit front of house lol! Thank you spicery. Served with flatbread with a spoon of Jeera blend, rice and cauli rice.
Celebrating 79 years of marriage between us, nargisi kofta, aloo shimla mirch and onion bhaji (I felt a bit pretentious trailing round in the pouring rain looking for quail's eggs when our butcher couldn't get any, but it worked fine with ordinary ones!) You're right - onion bhaji go down very well with Prosecco!)
Marcel the Guide mascot was a cheeky monkey getting into the spices. He went veggie at Brownie Holiday- with Brinjal Bhaji, Veg Subji and Saag Paneer
P170 Kachumber; well it just had to be. The Iceberg looked tired and the cucumber needed eating. I found some radishes in the fridge so added them for a little extra oomph!!! Fantastic!!!!!
I had some sprouts left over after a roast chicken. I remembered last year's advent calendar and found the little slip about BRUSSELS SPROUT THORAN. 6 minutes later it was ready to eat. Wonderful. Left-overs will never be wasted again.
Made Butter Chicken and Chicken Madras for the in-laws! The children in particular love the butter chicken and it is now a favourite!
This nearly didn't make it to the dinner table. After I had made it I tried a taste. Then I had another and then another. It was only pure willpower that stopped me finishing it off all at once. So fresh, tasty and clean. A delight. Guest loved it too. None left now!!!
The rogan josh is my favourite so far. Its got the perfect mix of heat and a rich flavour. The curry kit makes it so easy to make, our whole office at work now has one and this christmas we're all making a curry each to bring in for a office party. I'll be bringing rogan josh
I just love curry legend and so do many of my friends and family. My chicken jalfrezi and chicken Madras as you can see in this photo were so tasty and delicious
For Christmas dinner we decided to ditch the turkey this year and went to town with our amazing curry legend tin! All of the savoury dishes were from the four blends - I made mango chutney, we had seekh kebabs, samosas, onion bhajis to start. Followed by tandoori chicken thighs that I cooked in the wood oven (AMAZING!!) with a butter chicken dish, vegetable jalfrezi, chana masala, Bombay potatoes, a saag dish and freshly made naan cooked in the wood oven. We finished it of with some mango kulfi. It’s fair to say I think we will never eat a turkey dinner ever again !! We have bought these tins as gifts for friends and really can’t sing about it more! We love it. Thanks to the whole team for your creating such interesting meals. Top work. Merry Christmas and happy new year. Mark, Claire and Millie x
Tonight Mummy made butter chicken and onion bhajis which she baked in the oven rather than frying. I ate three bhajis (one off of Daddy’s plate) and had two helpings of curry. Most delicious.
Lovely rich curry, easy to make.
Bombay potatoes, saag paneer, with pilau rice and a lamb version of moghul chicken. We don't eat out for curry anymore! We must have saved so much money on eating out since I've become addicted to the curry legend recipes! I've even been asked to be someones personal chef! The Spicery makes it so easy, anyone can make curry like a pro!!
Oh my what a hearty beautiful dish also made the kachumber side the kids polished that off lol aww man happy times
Chicken Rogan Josh, Butter chicken, Onion bhaji, Cucumber raita, Mango chutney, Saag aloo and Naan bread. Amazing flavours and so easy to cook.
Stunning hot Dhansak with lots of lentils!
Superb book and spice kit in a tin that packs away neatly in the cupboard. I don't use this as much as I would like, which would be multiple times a week. If you are umm'ing and ahh'ing over whether to buy it or not I strongly recommend taking the plunge. Chances are you are here because either you, or the person you are buying it for, not only enjoys eating curry but making it as well. Either you will thank you for getting this, or they will be thanking you for buying it.
With some coconut milk left over from the Caldane and some lentils in the cupboard, it was an easy decision. Adding some spinach and tomatoes add colour and joyous flavour. What a recipe and so-so-so-so easy!!
Delicious and complimented each other well with different flavours and textures.
First tea from our new curry legend book .. seasonal veg subji made of leftover veg, chapatis and mint raita! Really delicious, looking forward to trying more!
Chicken Korma, Chicken Bhuna and Vegetable Rice from the amazing How to be a Curry Legend Cookbook. Delicious! Highly recommend this book.
Very nice curry, we had it with kosambari tomato rice and Kachumba, all made a lovely feast!
The Turkey mince needed to be used and was therefore probably not at its best. The result was that the Kebabs were fragile. The Raita was a mix of Cucumber, Onion, Tomato & Mint. The red chilies were for show. None left for the next day so it must be good.
Butter Chicken, Naan, Gobi Aloo, Mushroom Bhaji and I always like to try something new so went for Achari Chicken! It went down very well, though just now ,when I was checking the spelling ,I realised I forgot to add 150g yoghurt to serve!!!
First cook from the Curry Legends set bought for me for a Christmas Present. Chicken Pathia, Bombay Potatoes & Pilau Rice. Wow, it was better than an Indian takeaway. Throughly enjoyed cooking it. The one downside was we had to wash up for ourselves after! Can't wait for our next Curry Night!
Lovely curry! I used mutton and it worked perfect.
Lovely curry for valentine's day dinner had to adapt the recipe to be vegan friendly, which was easy enough and worked great! It had a nice kick but not too spicey would happily have it again!
Delicious, will definitely make this again!
Kaju Chicken, Konkani Green Curry (with halloumi), 'Easy Indian Veg', all with rice and naans. This is quite a minimal feast for us but I've recently lost my photos to show you!
Loved this recipe. Beautiful flavour and the lentils add to the texture. A "slow burner", heat starts slowly. I'm definitely going to do this one again.
The best curry night in Switzerland, Saas Fee! Everyone enjoyed the butter chicken, lamb rogan josh, beef madras, aloo gobi, raita and naan. It was legendary!
Absolutely Delicious! I've had the curry legends books for a few months now, cooking at least one curry most weeks and this is one of my favourites so far. Used frozen cod fillets and it came out rich, spicy and tangy, with plenty of thick sauce
Exvellent and not too hard
Just made this tasty korma was super easy to adapt to be vegan! Went for a vegan chicken alternative with peppers mushrooms and courgette! Swapped the butter and natural yogurt for the vegan equivalent! Will be making this korma again for the next dinner party!!
Thomas (age 9) cooked this delicious butter chicken curry as part of his 'make a meal for your family' homework. It's an absolute family favourite!
A very nice dish we also had a veg madras and some onion bhaji too which I recommend you save a bhaji or 2 and warm up the next day on a buttered cob hmm yummy
We had this Goan coconut curry with cod in it instead of chicken, with lemon rice and Thoran. It was delicious!
Jalfrezi with prawns, lemon rice & onion bhajis. Spicy and lovely!
Keralan fish fry with salmon, easy Indian veg and onion bhajis. This is now a weekly staple in our house, thank you Spicery!!
Really easy to make and tasted amazing! Took a while as I could only fit one in our tiny pan at a time but well worth the wait!
#QuarantineCurry #1 with Onion Bhajis
Adapted the recipe and slow cooked a beef brisket in it for a lovely pulled beef curry. Added some extra fresh chillies and coriander for a lovely finish.
I got my book yesterday...as we are on lockdown I left it to the family to decide tonight’s dinner..Dhansak won as it’s not too hot for the children! We swapped the prawns for chicken & I was a little worried at first as it didn’t ‘pulp down’ too well but after an extra 15 minutes...... WOWZERS!!! This was delicious! I actually couldn’t stop eating it! This is amazing and a complete winner in our house! Restaurant quality! I can’t wait to try another one! 5*
Prawn Pathia, chilli chutney, pilau rice & lentil daal absolutely delicious. Thank you The Spicery, another fantastic recipe from the curry legend book.
Perfect lock down fakeaway enjoyed by the whole family. Balti, carrot chutney, dhal, baji and naan. Yum! Happy lock down Saturday x
Lockdown tandoori chicken on the bbq was the perfect distraction from covid-19
I am going to rename this to "The World's Tastiest Curry!" Absolutely wonderful dish, full of flavour and just the right heat! Have already made this again for the family since taking this picture.
Lamb Rogan Josh with plain rice, parathas, thoran and coriander raita from our How to Be a Curry Legend Cookbook.
Butter chicken with Jeera rice, delicious!!!
Seekh kebab, Parath, sizzling peppers and onion and mint raita. Seekh kebab cooked on the bbq. The dish was amazing! great to cook and to prepare. Who needs a takeaway with these recipes. ...
Made a chicken pathia with a side of the vegetable rice, absolutely scrummy. Mixed leftovers together and will bake for lunch today for quick fix biryani. NOM.
Best homemade curry ever. Did not have cream so used coconut cream - delicious.
Really lovely flavourful curry, super easy to make Onion Bhajis were delicious and I will definitely make them again!! So quick and simple.
Nice curry, bit fiddlier than some in the book, nice flavour but not our favourite. Naan was easy to make and Bhajis we’re lovely
This week’s Friday night lockdown curry - lamb Balti with tarka dhal and kulchas, my new favourite thing!
Made to go with Chicken Bhuna and Kachumber salad. Worked great with carrot and parsnip.
Great alternative to bbq food, on a sunny day. Cooked these kebabs with lemon raita, sizzling peppers and onions, kachumber and chapatis, all from the curry legend book.
My first attempt at cooking from the curry legend book. Vege version of the curry as we had no meat in, served with lemon rice, paratha and tomato pachadi, we all loved it, will be making good use of this book over lockdown!
Stunning I would rate it a 6 if I could. All the suggestions were perfect too. A wonderful lockdown supper.
I tried this recipe with slight trepidation as I am not a big fan of Butternut Squash. I was amazed and delighted with the result! The lemon juice cut through the sweetness I was worried about. The dish exceeded my expectation. It's remarkably flavoursome given basically the main ingredient is Butternut Squash. I now feel confident to try it again but with sweet potato! (Another vegetable I view with in the same way!) I followed the tip about roasting the squash, and only semi-mashed the dish and enjoyed the texture. Thanks Spicery
Wow what a dish! The Vindaloo recipe from the How to be a Curry Legend book has converted us to using pork in a curry, something my partner and I had never tried before, delicious. The Paratha bread, so simple to make by following the recipe in the book and well worth the effort.
Partner cooked up this really thick Korma with Pilau RIce for Friday night dinner. He added a some sweet potato along with the chicken. He says he may have over toasted the almonds in butter at the end but it sure did taste great. Another super recipe added the favorite list to revisit.
6 weeks in lockdown in Spain. Curry Legend cooking has made Saturday night still feel like Saturday night. And for that, I'll be forever grateful. X
This week’s Friday lockdown curry night - chicken pathia with cucumber kosombari, kulchas and aloo tikki. We loved it all!
Could not be happier, the meals taste as good as some restaurants and better than a lot more and I am only a moderate cook at best, looking forward to many more great meals. (the tins pretty good too).
Treats for Jess have arrived!!! Excited
Nailed it amazing Onion Bhajis
First curry legend try out, with grey mullet fillets. Bit hectic at the end making the recommended sides - I ran out of gas rings and pans, but delicious.
OMG best curry I have made from the curry legend book so far!! So tasty! I changed the chicken to vegan chicken strips apart from that it was already fully vegan!! So easy!! Cant wait to make this again!!
A delicious family Spicery, kids and grown ups scoffed the lot. best tea of lockdown!
Second attempt at a curry evening, easy one pot curry, but chicken sheesh kebabs chapatis and the cucumber writer all went down very well
This week’s lockdown Friday curry - butter chicken (our favourite) with palak dhal and kulchas
Isolation Day 52! Locked down but not locked in. First meal of the year outside. Sweet potato Dhansak, brinjal pickle, cucumber raita and naan. All my favourites and in the fresh air too.
Turned out amazing Coukdbt get enough.
Delicious Saturday night Curry !
Chicken Dhansak.. absolutely amazing, I used chicken thighs so the chicken was so juicy and the texture was spot on. Flavour is delicious, love the curry legend spices. Also.. mint sauce is a must have
BBQ with a twist. Full plate was Seekh Kebab, Tandoori Chicken Thighs, Bombay Potatoes, Lemon Rice and naan. I cooked the meat on the BBQ and we enjoyed the food out in the garden on a lovely sunny day during lockdown. The book was a present and by far the best thing I have in the kitchen x
BBQ with a twist. Full plate was Seekh Kebab, Tandoori Chicken Thighs, Bombay Potatoes, Lemon Rice and Naan with the mint yogurt. I cooked the meat on the BBQ and we enjoyed in the garden on a lovely sunny day during lockdown. This book was a present from my sister and by far the best addition to any kitchen.
A first attempt at Pakistani Nihari with super tasty Brinjal Bhaji, and some now regular favourites of parathas and cucumber raitia. Another wonderful meal and a very welcome suprise for my partner. Thankyou Spicery!!
Family favourite, even the youngest loves it (especially if she gets a personal naan)
Thrilled with the book and the spices. Can’t wait to get started! Everything is so beautifully designed too - a joy to look at as well as inspiring.
Achari chicken with thoran and homemade chapatis - delicious!
Received our book yesterday and got straight to it making chicken pathia with lemon rice (we raised our game by adding the crispy ginger before serving), tomato pachdi, onion bhajis and paratha's for our friday night dinner and it was amazing. We totally loved this curry and look forward to our next spicery curry night.
Home made curry tonight courtesy of Andrew
This week’s Friday lockdown curry - chicken dhansak with samosas, saag bahji (delicious!) and kulchas
Easy to follow recipe. I used a spatchcock whole chicken, and served with cauliflower (and green beans) 65, bombay potatoes, and naan breads, all from the curry legend kit
My first attempt to become a Curry Legend turned out to be a great success. Rogan Josh with Beef; Seasonal Veg Subji with green veg; Paratha; Cucumber Raita; Lemon Rice and Mango Chutney all because the spices were excellent and the recipes easy to follow. Thanks
Spicery-led weaning with our old favourite, Cauliflower 65, plus Aloo Pakora and Coriander Raita. Teddy loved it!
Everytime we try a new dish we always think that it's the best but they just keep on getting better and better! Love this book!!
My partner and I have been making curry from the Spicery every Saturday for almost 3 years now. I bought him a subscription for his birthday and since then we have bought the books and the blends. Every Saturday is known as “curry night” in our home, where we always make a different curry, with naans and rice! Saturday dinner is always a winner with the Spicery!
Made chicken angina, Makhani Dhal, Thakkali curry and Jeera rice Last Friday. It was all Devine. Since buying the book and spices we have had a Friday night curry feast Every Friday and each dish has been amazing!
This week’s Friday lockdown curry - jalfrezi with tarka dhal, kulchas and samosas
Curry night delight following different recipes from the Curry Legend recipe book! This is the best buy! Cooked a prawn pathia, onion bhajis, pilau rice, chapatis, tarka dhal and cucumber raita. Thanks for a great book and spices!
Wow. This was fab, blinking spicy but great. Loving the curry book.
This was absolutely delicious, we made it with quail eggs. The tomato/onion sauce was thick and flavoursome. An easy recipe to make and impress! We have since made it with small mozzarella balls inside instead of eggs. That’s really delicious also! Home made naans too!
After making this with quail eggs, we tried making it with small mozzarella balls inside the nargisi koftas instead. Oh my goodness, they were amazing! We use the recipe books and the blends all the time! Couldn’t be without them now! Thank you ‘The Spicery’
An international cook along curry legend evening via FaceTime. Our friends Oli & Sarah in Geneva using their spicery kit to whip up a legendary feast. Samosas, seekh kebabs, butter chicken, mushroom keema, onion chutney and mint raita. All excellent!
Spicery amazing freebies through the years! Beer Bhajis from 2016, Caribbean Mango Chutney from 2018 and right up-to-date with Spring vegetable pakoras. Delicious accompaniments to a simple curry - yum!
Chicken Madras and Pilau Rice! Started simple incredible recipe! Can’t wait to go again next time with breads!
Fab flavours, side dish so tasty and first time making peshwari nans. Never thought I would attempt them ever, and they were soooo good. Another great friday night feast.
Just got the book. Here is our chicken pasanda and chapatis. Spice blends really are fresh, fragrant and make all the difference ...my old spice cupboard has been relegated !
Nargisi Kofta Curry had been on my "To Do" list for a long time and today was that day. It took a lot of work but how worthwhile. We enjoyed every mouthful with more for tomorrow. Stunning
Worlds easiest chickpea curry, jeera rice, tomato pachada and Bombay potatoes. Feast for a king!
Our son who is just under 8 months old really enjoyed his first taste of curry
Mega! The whole family loved this different option for lunch. Totally broke the monotony of lockdown. Vibrant and tasty!
Amazing flavours - well worth the marinating time, to fully develop those spices.
We substituted sweet potato but the flavours are still amazing!
A perfect accompaniment for the Vindaloo and Gobi Aloo, providing a freshness and crunch that enhances the flavours and textures of the other dishes! A real ‘find’.
Chicken Jalfreizi, with pilau rice and saag paneer. Absolutely delish!
We love it soooo much ❤ We can't live without this books and recipies anymore! We make a Curry at least one time in a month to survive and it works perfectly every time and it's so delicious! Thank you sooooo much for these amazing recipies, books and Blends! With love from Germany Susi and Enya

I was gifted the How to be a Curry Legend kit 18 months ago and I should have written a review then because I have loved every recipe I have cooked since then. I have since bought numerous blend refills and the World curry book and have recently pre-ordered the taco legend kit. I think these kits are a great way to easily improve your curry game!
Perfectly spiced made with king prawn favourite so far
Amazing dish ! With Bombay patato, mushroom rice , onion bhaji fantastic dishes
I received a gift of beautiful king prawns and had to make the Dhansak again. I never grow tired of it. This is such a good recipe. The flavour and different textures make this a winner. The lentils make it very satisfying too.
Curry night with the housemates. A mix of veggie curries (achari kaddu, mushroom bahji and tarka Dahl) and a chicken bhuna with homemade garlic naan and onion chutney! Awesome Curry Legend spread!
First recipe tried from the curry legend kit I recently purchased! It was out of this world! Totally jaw dropping, the texture was perfect and the flavour was amazing! Cannot wait to try out all the others!
First attempt. Great fun.
Tasted great but sauce wasn't that thick
With Seasonal Veg Subji, Jeera Rice and Chilli Garlic Chutney...fantastic!
Amazing, rich, delicious curry
We made Lamb Rogan Josh served with rice, Kachumber and Mint Raita - absolutely delicious
I’d never cooked a fish curry before, I will be cooking this again! Absolutely fantastic and so simple. Worked really well with Bombay Potatoes and Mint Raita.
A lot of effort went into this one! But a fun and delicious experience for everyone on our first holiday out of lockdown. Yum
Rajasthani Laal Maas, Beetroot Palya, Cucumber Raita and Chapatis made with home grown beetroot and cucumber picked fresh from the garden. They worked really well together - yum yum
With the wife away, I felt like a treat. The Worlds Easiest Curry with Paneer & Veg served with Palak Dhal, Cucumber & Tomato Raita and Pilau Rice. The beer was a bonus. Great Feast for One
While I was cooking something else, I set this off. Sweet potato, Carrots and beans in Easy One-Pot Curry. Four hours later I turned off the slow cooker and what an aroma. Had a taste and look forward to tomorrow for more. Lovely
Can’t remember what this one was called, but it was great! The cooling spiced beetroot was an awesome pair to the chicken curry! :)
Lovely creamy curry, easy to cook and went well with the accompaniments from the book. You
Absolutely amazing with Chicken Tandoori!!!
Final stages of preparation
This was lovely.....even better having marinated for 60 hours!!!!
Bought as a Christmas present two years ago - we've hardly ordered a takeaway since. It's saved us money and the whole family enjoy trying (and retrying) all the recipes. Standouts for me are the balti and Rajasthani laal maas, which we cook in the slow cooker and are just bob on. Now buying curry kits for family and friends as well!
The "How to be a curry legend" book got us through lockdown! Every Friday, we video called a couple of friends who we bought the book for too, and we cooked along to a new curry every week. This was my personal favourite, Goan coconut chicken, Matar Paneer, Pilau Rice, Broccoli Thoran and a chapati.
Had an amazing curry night with friends, fantastic choice of recipes to choose from. We opted for a prawn pathia and quorn butter chicken, with pilau rice and plenty of sides. Even whipped up some mango lassi, amazing and totally recommend to students!
Amazing!! I could eat this every day of the week! So easy to make and so delicious!
Aloo Gosht cooked outside in a potjie on the open fire. After this it was left to simmer for 25-30 mins. Delicious and a big hit with our guests.
Lovely vegetarian main that has become a staple in our house. We change it up with tofu or halloumi depending on who is coming for dinner.
Lovely velvety fragrant curry, super easy to put together and cooks very quickly for a mid week rush meal
Fab recipe, got the coating lovely and crispy on the outside by cooking low and slow in the oven. Nice deep flavours and brilliant colour, star of the show this curry evening
Great recipe. Easy to put together and always a hit. The onions soften as they are cooling so don't worry if they seem crunchy on testing. Lovely warm flavours
Made For the first time ever; The Worlds Easiest Curry Karahi Chicken Pilau Rice The whole agreed it was awesome and we are already planning our next meal. We had fun making it also.
Chicken & Leek Easiest (36), Veg Korma (58), Tarka Dal (143), Kachumber (170) with Mango & Walnut Chutney (202). Added bits everywhere to use up leftovers but all great. Thank you again.
All fabulous can't wait for the next menu
Keema Matar. Delicious, and so easy!
My new favourite curry! Chicken Dhansak with Jeera Rice, Thoran, Chilli Garlic Chutney and Tomato Chutney. The lentils give great depth of flavour and there is added zing from the lemon. Jeera rice is always a winner and Thoran is a great way of adding tasty veggies with curry.
Tasted really fresh and so easy to make
I love Mango Chutney. They do vary though from brand to brand. I've tried many over the years, but have now found the best ever! It's my own made using the Curry Legend recipe & spice blends. It is so easy to make & so, so tasty! Thank you Spicery :-)
Chicken Jalfrezi served with Mango Chutney - Curry had a great flavour and so much better than any takeaway we have had. Mango chutney was so yummy great warmth from the ginger and spices definitely not going back to the shop brought version after trying this. A great treat for a Friday night!
SO DELICIOUS!!! ANNIVERSARY SUCCESS!
This is my 4th curry I've made and each time it tastes as though it was cooked from a restaurant. Curry Legend recipe book is brilliant and very easy to follow.
This curry is so quick and simple to make and SO tasty. Definitely one of our favourites
So good that people would not even wait while I grabbed my phone for a picture - also had Jalfrezi kit (also 5/5/amazing) - time renew that subscription!
Added some very well cooked red onions to the mix before blending and the result was rich and very tasty. Thank you so much for the sample.
Tandoori chicken and plain naans cooked in our pizza oven were fabulous! The chicken stayed moist and was great with the tomato pachadi.
I've tried my hand at curry approximately 1.5 times prior to ordering this cookbook and spices. Right off the bat, I made "The World's Easiest Curry" along with the Easy Pilau Rice (adapted for cauliflower rice) and Easy Indian Veg. Super-pleased with how approachable these recipes are, and more importantly, the flavors! Can't wait to try more from the book soon :)
So easy to use and such delicious recipes! Have already recommended this to friends and family.
Double the quantity of lentils, a whole tin of Cocnut Milk, a bag of spinach and 2 Tomatoes. Warm, soothing, delicious and oh-so healthy. Easy to cook and now we have lots in the freezer as well as havint 2 wonderful meals. Thank you for the recipe.
Easy to prepare, easy to make, and so easy to eat! Delicious. I made tomato rice to go with it. One of the best yet.
Stephie (3), Lillie (13) and Sophie (10) all loved spicing, stirring and eating the butter chicken and chana massala but the brinjal bhaji was devoured the quickest!
Really lovely with lots of peppers and onions. Delicious!
Chicken jalfrezi with the best onion bahjis, butter chicken, lentil dahl, bombay potatoes and parathas. Amazing flavours.
Mild, creamy and totally yummy!
Served with a side of tomato pachadi and wild rice!
Really happy with our first box but held back on some of the spices (used 1/2 to 3/4 of each sachet) to make this a family friendly feast. Cauliflower dish will become a regular I’m sure.
Way better than any takeaway. This korma had a great flavour we served it with spring vegetable pakoras and mint raita a lovely Indian feast and fun to make.
Delicious curry and cauliflower!
Cooking on gas! This was excellent. We did it with beef instead of lamb and gave it two hours on a low heat and served it with tomato rice. We used two teaspoons of mirchi blend rather than three to bring the heat down a little bit and it was perfect.
As featured on the BBC's live text coverage of the Masters Golf final round! A Spicery curry feast in Spain whilst watching the golf from Augusta - lockdown doesn't get any better than this!
My Indian feast! Consisting of: Saag Ghost, Saag Paneer, Winter Veg Dhansak, Onion Bhajis, Pol Roti, Cucumber Raita & Rice! Beautiful!
The recipe are so easy to follow, The dishes taste fantastic.
Our first box and WOW what a recipe! Super easy to follow, all aspects of the dish were amazing, the cauliflower 90 was bangin & the Balti itself was rich & spicy with a thick sauce & full of flavour.
WORLD CLASS!! Absolutely fantastic recipe, so many different flavours and spices it was simply a delight. The onion Bhaji and lemon rice was also absolutely superb.
Amazing ! Really easy to make and the cauliflower 90 was stunning! The Balti itself was not too spicy yet so flavourful. Love the salad and the Raita ♥️ Will make again!
So light and crispy I added extra spice
We used chicken and this was delicious much better than any we have tried in local curry houses. The sauce was rich and tasty definately make this one again. This was very easy to make and was a lovely treat.
Honestly so easy to make, and so delicious. Would never buy pre made naan again. Can't wait to try them again!!
Best curry I've ever made, hands down. Super tasty and so easy. So long takeaway curry!!
Lovely flavours with just the right amount of spice
Excellent flavours with good amount of spice
The best madras I've ever had...
Achari chicken, aloo shimla mirch, chana masala and chapattis. This meal was lush. Def recommend
Lamb rogan josh, bombay potatoes, onion bhajis and chapattis. First time trying this cook book. Absolutely love it!!! Sooooo yummy
Easy to make and tastes amazing! First curry legend curry! Served with curry legend pilau rice. Stunning.
Top notch grub! So tasty!
This was the first of the 12 recipes from the Xmas Calendar. It was delicious but it started me on a marathon of Spicery Cooking. You see there was some chicken left over and I had some prawns so............
I had some chilli left and found some packets of chutney spices so cleared the fridge of red onions, tomatoes and apples, adding sultanas and the rest. Spicy Tomato, Apple and Chilli and Winter Chutneys were followed by Blatjang. The cupboard is full but the fridge is empty
Nice middle of the road curry, nothing amazing but still very nice. Cooked with chapattis which were a bit more hassle than they were worth. Kinda bland but great for scooping up the sauce!
Super easy to make, great turn out. 4/10 from me.
Really enjoyed cooking this lovely curry. Had the camera all ready before I started but it looked and smelled so good I got carried away. Five stars.
Completely vegan curry night! Absolutely delicious!
This curry was delicious and sweet, I don’t like cooking when there is loads of ingredients but The Spicery recipe book is perfect for me and the spices which are included are great.
Such a truly delicious curry. We will definitely be making this again. Thank you The Spicery.
The Tandoori Chicken from the How to be a Curry Legend book was DIVINE!! Curry Saturday’s are the highlight of 2021! The recipes are so good we had Curry Saturday and Sunday this week!!
Now you’re talking! Did this with lamb instead of chicken. Slow cooked it in the oven. Served it with pilau rice and used the Haldi blend to make a Saag Aloo dish (potato and spinach) Really nice.
Chicken Dhansak served with Jeera rice and naan So full of flavour!!!
Saturday night lockdown night in. Chicken Dhansak, Gobi Aloo, Tarka Dhal, Matar Paneer, Naan, Pilau Rice and some extra Paneer.
Such tasty food and so easy to make, no weird ingredients and no jars of spices bought for one meal and then going out of date in the cupboard - perfect, love this, can’t wait to make my next meal
Chicken jalfrezi, mushroom bhaji, garlic nans and some scotch bonnet chillies to throw in as well
This was so simple and so delicious, why have we not made them before!!!! We made Jalfrezi, mogul paneer, pilau the ice, parathas & kerchumber to go with them for a Valentine Banquet!!!
Cooked up a storm - including the mango chutney and homemade naan bread. Absolute winner for the first dish cooked from the curry legend book. Watch this space..
Never had curry so good until the legends book, this one is so flavoursome and just the right heat.
The chicken spices were delicious and made a fantastic meal. The tomato chutney was a little spicy for our tastes but we added some extra mango chutney to the side and still very much enjoyed it
This was delicious and so easy to make. Hubbie loved it.
Had this as part of my subscription, tasted great!
Karahi Chicken 4/5 Delicious, but I would spice it up just a little more. Bombay Potatoes 5/5 Excellent recipe and will feature more in my cooking ! Nans 4/5 Certainly a fun challenge the first time.
Goan Coconut Chicken Curry 4/5 . Lovely curry but I would ease off on the lemon juice as it overpowered it. Saag Paneer 5/5 Delicious. Red cabbage Kosambari 4/5. An interesting slaw effectively, but nice crunch contrast.
Chicken Madras 4/5. Really nice curry which I toned down for a lesser heat audience. Personally add that extra spoon of Mirch blend to hit the spot ! Bhindi Masala 5/5. Loved it, subtle but delicious. Bombay Potatoes 5/5 Excellent recipe. A the risk of being 'stuck off' (Lol) my Tarka Dhal is a tried and tested recipe from elsewhere. Nans 4/5 Dough seems a bit wet and challenging. Still, taste good if a bit doughy in the end.
The most amazing, rich, flavoursome curry! And so easy with the kit. We loved it
This recipe recreated one of our favourite dishes from our local Indian restaurant and, I have to say, this was even better! A delicious blend of spices and a really well written recipe.
Lamb Pasanda, Karahi Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Tarka Dhal and Mango Chutney. All delicious and so easy to cook. A great way to get the family eating healthy food ☺️
This is a great recipe. The Kulcha bread is really easy to make and the dhal is really tasty as is the star of the show the Chicken. Served with riata and tomato, cucumber onion salad.
Made butter chicken with a side of Bombai potatoes. Recipe very easy to follow.
Saturday night - curry night.
Achari Chicken & Saag Paneer, there’s nothing better! One made with vegetarian chicken, both taste amazing. Better than any Indian takeaway!
Absolutely delicious and extremely moreish!
Amazing dinner such beautiful flavours !
Saturday Night Takeaway? No thank you! Not when Lamb Rogan Josh, Bombay Potatoes, sizzling peppers and tomato rice tastes this good.
Delicious way to serve cauliflower. Everyone loved it. Quick and easy to prepare, quite the star of the show.
This was the free sample that came with this months box and it was SO good. It made such a beautiful curry, not one I would normally make so I really enjoyed both eating and making this! Another winner from The Spicery
Served with kahari chicken, I added some cauliflower to the kahari chicken, and served with sliced banana, fat free yogurt and some mango chutney, delicious!!
Excellent recipes, always successful and appreciated
We used beef instead a cooked for 1hr. It was delicious honestly every recipe we've tried from the book has been super yummy. Accompanied with Chana masala, chili riata (one of our absoute favs) mint riata, onion bhaji, pashwari naan and coconut chutney. It was so yummy even had left overs for lunch the next day. Saturday nights are made for curry!
I also made the vindaloo,Bombay potatoes, peshwari naan and keema naan and was amaze balls.
First meal cooked following the recipe from the book, fabulous meal, tasted as if we were in a top notch Indian restaurant. Cooked the lamb slightly longer than the hour stated on the recipe to ensure the lamb was softer.
A very Good Friday meal. Prawn Dhansak, and cod dhansak, pilau rice and then we did Cauliflower 65 but with broccoli, mushrooms, and asparagus instead. Cucumber raita on the side. All of it was fabulous.
Also made butter chicken, saag aloo, peshwari naans, keema naans and pilau rice with peas. I’m loving my Saturday nights cooking amazing Indian food. Danny from Lockleaze.
We loved making this recipe, the curry was delicious and even got a thumbs up from the teenagers!
Slow cooked pork dopiaza, mushroom rice and home made naan.
Worked a treat with beef!
Recipe was simple to follow and make. No complicated ingredients perfect for a week night meal. So much flavour, everyone enjoyed it
Peshawari naans, butter chicken and chicken jalfrezi ( and lemon rice clearly indicated to avoid confusion!!)
Wow, I thought I would give these a whirl as they are a family favorite, so much easier to make than I had anticipated, They taste as good if not better than any restaurant one I have had before. Well worth the effort.
Very enjoyable to cook and even more enjoyable to eat! Clean plates all around
The Achari chicken was absolutely delicious courtesy of The Spicery - How to be a curry legend. The blend of spices offers the perfect blend of heat thanks to the mirchi blend and the best combination of the earthiness of the cumin, cardamon and the roasted cracked indore coriander seed from the holding blend which was absolutely delicious and made sure that the curry met with our culinary approval. The Jeera spice mix with a hit of nigella seeds and brown mustard seeds works so well with all the blended spice mixes. Well done Spicery on making the best spice mix for our weekend meal.
Always love this recipe. Turns out super authentic. King Prawn curry is hard to beat!
Richard and Rebecca used the Curry Legends recipe to create a mountain of samosas. Substituting some of the potato for minced lamb and spicing in the usual way. The sweetness of the peas really complimented the warmth of the merchi blend but we had to make up a second batch of dough to use up the extra filling. The results are fantastic and we now have a freezer full of yummy samosas to go with our next Spicery recipe box.
The third from this years Advent Calendar. I used Chipolata sausages in place of Chicken and made some lemon & Mint Raita to go with it. we loved the way the tomato wedges brought the whole meal together. What a great recipe.
This is without a doubt our favourite recipe in the Curry Legend book! It’s so creamy and rich, and the flavours are that deep and fresh that it easily rivals that of a restaurant! I love that all of the recipes can be easily veganised - we used mock chicken and vegan butter here to create this delicious dish.
She who must be obeyed loved the Gajar Pickle so much that she asked for more. With the "Make it Again" instructions and some extra garlic and lime juice, I made enough to last her a day or two. At first it wasn't hot enough so Mirchi came to the rescue. Lovely
Wednesday night all through the covid nightmare has now become 'curry night' and this week we made peshwari naans to go with the 'world's easiest curry' (added veg to trick the teenager into eating a vitamin too!). Thanks for making Wednesdays the best dinner night of the week.
Made this vegetarian dish for my daughter’s and it got the thumbs up
I have made your Dopiaza several times. It's possibly one of the best curries in the book. I always use lamb but this time I tried beef as a change. It's super tasty too! But lamb is still my favourite! ;-)
Eldest Granddaughter chose Nargisi Koftas, her sister Egg, Leek & Prawn Easiest, her brother Onion Bhajis, her Mum Poppadums, Lime and Mint Raita and Mango Chutney and her Dad Mushroom Keema Mattar WITHOUT PEAS. Their wishes were my commands!!!!
Used paneer and leeks in place of beef and served it with vegetable rice. Added a red chili for extra spice and the result was as good as all the Spicery recipes and there is the second half for tomorrow Exciting
Excellent. By far better than any Indian restaurant meal I have had. Easy to follow recipe and absolutely delicious.
First session with the blends. So straightforward! We're going to make a lot of Indian chefs fed up that their secrets are out!
King Prawn Dhansak, Bombay Potatoes, Pilau Rice and Chilli and Garlic Chutney
This is a wonderful recipe. The mint and coriander give this such a fresh kick.
Bhindi Gosht, Tomato Paneer, Caulifower Potato all made with Curry Legend guidance and spice blends - cooked by the boys for our appreciative (and skilled cooks) girls!
Butter Chicken, Garlic and Coriander Rice, Coriander Raita and of course Naan Breads. Absolutely delicious! Makes a midweek evening feel like Saturday night.
Used this recipe again tonight as we really enjoyed it last time. We did it with monkfish , Bombay potatoes and pilau rice. All very good but the mangalore sauce didn’t thicken as much as I think it should have. Will definitely do it again but a cheaper fish like cod or do it with chicken again as that was excellent too.
Mango Chutney extra spicy. Took 2 mangoes and left the mix to simmmer with a good dollop of Mirchi for over half an hour. Used less sugar than the recipe but the result was magnificent. Thank you as ever.
“You cooked a good korma mummy” Another hit from Bonnie. Just left out the salt and the korma was baby friendly! Her curry repertoire is growing! Wonder what we will try next!
I did chicken korma, king prawn jalfrezi, pilau rice, mango chutney and onion bhajis. This is my first go and wow what a feast! Thank you Spicery it’s all so easy and tasty!
these bhaji are easy peasy to make and delish. I made them to go with sag paneer, Chana dal, aloo gobi, rice and raita. Curry legend has been a go to in the pandemic, when there are no restaurants to go to.
Had chicken instead of fish. Very mild tasty flavour
As you can see we cooked this Tarka Daal plus a Mushroom Bhaji ( with a few extra veg thrown in) in the open air on 2 camping stoves. It was absolutely delicious and very easy to cook.
Who says you can’t cook a curry whilst camping!
Lamb pasanda for two! Little and large - enjoyed by both! Cooked in the slow cooker so the lamb was melt in the mouth - and no chopping needed for Bonnie!
Perfect for an easy self-catering holiday evening meal. Simple to follow the instructions and better than a takeaway! Nice an spicy as you’d expect. Thank you x
We had a mountain of cherry tomatoes in the greenhouse and decided to try this curry. We wanted to eat it as a main course so amended the recipe by adding some cashew nuts, and it was delicious. Thank you for the inspiration!
Made the Gobi Aloo and had it with chicken balti. Both were amazing!
We celebrated October Legend month with a family reunion. Three generations of Legends! Everyone brought their favourite dish from their favourite book. What a feast we had! My contribution was the Mangalore Fish Curry which is one of my "go-to" recipes. It is super easy to make and has to be tried to believe how delicious it tastes.
We recently had a family party during "Legend Month" with all the food cooked from the How to be a Curry Legend, Curry Legend Veg Curries & Curry Legend World Curry recipe books. It was legendary! There were beef, lamb, chicken, fish and many vegetarian dishes too. One of the most popular was Bombay Potatoes. It is simply delicious, comforting and very moreish!
Mushroom Bhaji was so easy to make and even easier to eat. Quite delicious. Time to try some more recipes!!!!
Easy and delicious, it said three chillis for hotness but I didn’t find it too hot.
So easy to do, kofta curry was so good along with the aloo, pickle was quite hot but with a lovely sweetness to it. The saffron pilau was beautiful, great taste
Loved this, added spinach and did do not use as much oil due to eating extra healthy this month
P134 Matar paneer. My lovely wife adores peas and we had some Paneer in the fridge so out came the book and this was the delicious result. Lots then and much more in the freezer - lucky us!!!!
Xmas 2020 number 12 but used parsnips and potatoes with a handful of fresh spinach. What a feast. Thank you for that wonderful Advent calendar - all gone now!!! except for the extras in the freezer!!!!
We made a Paneer Pasanda, pilau rice and the vegetable pakora tonight as part of a date night. Amazing! Really creamy and thick with an amazing texture and so easy to make! The vegetable pakora were also so easy and tasted great!
Best ever curry I have ever made, super easy, never getting a takeaway again
Turkey actually with purple Broccoli and Peas and some spinach - all needed using up so the No 8 recipe from the Calendar seemed ideal. 2 meals in the freezer after a good tasting session!!!
No chicken available so used Swedish Meatballs and Peas. Sounds weird but tastes great and 2 more lots in the freezer for another great set of meals.
Sag aloo, makhani lentils, plain rice, and the worlds easiest chicken curry (which it was!). My mouth has never been happier!
Another amazing recipe from The Spicery! Tonight was a prawn dansak from the Curry Legend book. It tastes better than any takeaway, beautifully balancing the sweet with the savoury. These books are just fantastic and I can’t wait to try more recipes!
Although I have been cooking Curry Legend recipes for some time. I am still amazed each time how easy it is to cook something amazing and different from the same Legend Blends. The Achari Chicken is a perfect example. Super easy, super tasty!
From the curry legend cook book. A bit of a dry curry than what I am use to for a jalfreizi but still nice.
8/2/22 - nice tasty curry
12/2/22 - nice and spicy chutney!
Green chutney 12/2/22 - not a great fan of this one but not a huge fan of coriander.
12/2/22 - tried to replicate the butter chicken with kachumber salad that my wife loved by doing the butter chicken from the curry legend book. Tasty but not as good
15/2/22 - very rich curry especially with lamb. May be nicer with chicken which is a reconnection in the book.
16/2/22 - Did Tandoori chicken and chips. Had too much marinade after serving chicken so reduced down to curry sauce to put on the side
19/2/22 - nice chicken bhuna and did the ‘raise your game’ on this one
26/2/22 - Chicken korma with ‘raise your game’. Team effort tonight as Mrs Telford made chapatis which worked really well.
Fantastic Friday night curry
5/3/22 - nice curry but we prefer something hotter
6/3/22 - mrs telford made these to go with our lamb dopiaza and were a great success
9/3/22 - cooked for the in laws and wife tonight. Enjoyed by all. Wife was on parathas duty and she nailed it again!
Tandoori chicken with mango chutney and raita. The way to my boyfriends heart - Easy to follow instructions making is easy to create a fab night with fab food for two.
Family curry night. Got together with the in-laws; we are both Curry Legends - we made Paneer Pasanda, naans, vegetable pakora, chana masala and the Moghul Chicken but with cauliflower. Everything was amazing, not too difficult and we all really enjoyed sharing dishes!
Free months sample greatly enjoyed by the whole family. Simple and easy to make and beautiful taste
Tasty, easy and the best combo of flavours. Made our house smell so good for days after.
USA curry cook off :)! I bought this book for my uncle in Florida as he can’t find a good Indian restaurant here. We cooked madras, butter chicken, easy Dahl, tandoori chicken and rice. It was great and he’s already asking for replacement spices. He’s looking forward to trying some more.
I am obsessed with my curry legend book, the recipes are so easy to make and full of flavour. This was no exception, Chicken Madras, Tomato Pachadi and Pilau Rice. A big hit with my wife too.
My new favourite recipe. The house smelled amazing. Next time i make it ill leave the lid off a bit longer to thicken it up a bit more.
This will be a regular in our house. So fragrant and tasty
Absolutely delicious. My cousin recommended me this recipe (we both love the spicery) and it's so so good!! Goes so well with curries. Delicious.
Fab tasty recipe and so easy cooked in the pizza oven! Pockets of goodness for curry consumption!!!
And just how they ended up!
I usually make this with lamb, but tried beef for a chance. It was really tasty, as were the Garlic & Coriander Rice and Mango Chutney.
Xmas 2020 #11 Pathia Blend with Prawns, Mushrooms and some fresh Spinach together with a mixed Lime and Tomato Raitha. Not as red as the picture but I am sure just as tasty. More tomorrow.
13/6/22 - Korma with some twists (2 tsp Mirchi instead of half and raise your game half almonds half cashews). Lovely jubbly!
Tandoori Chicken, Shami Kebabs, Mango Chutney, Green Chutney, Dum Aloo and Kosambari. This was fantastic!!
Got my daughter and boyfriend cooking the curries now. Second time they’ve made this. They love the Kachumber. Daughter has even got her own account now to buy supplies when she’s back at Uni.
The first recipe tried, and it was really tasty.
Added some mushrooms and used a red pepper. The mint at the end was perfect and the meal disappeared so quickly - at least there is more for another time. Thank you as ever.
Love your recipes never a fail on a mid week tea
Not enough Sprouts so added some fine beans. Worked really well with the crunchy Walnuts and crispy bacon that I cooked with the Jeera Blend at the start. Juicy and full of flavour - but what did we expect from a Spicery Recipe. Joyful
Curry Legend night Konkani green curry, Chicken Korma, Gobi Aloo, Tarka Dhal, Naan bread & plain rice. What a feast! Better than any takeaway.
Best Dhansak recipe we've found. Authentic flavours and tastes just like a Dhansak compared to other recipes used. Had to leave for a bit longer to simmer down excess water, excellent recipe and tastes delicious.
Butter Chicken, Saag Paneer, Paneer Matar and Tarka Dhal. I love my curry legend book. Have been making weekly feasts for 4 years and my wife and kids love it every time .
Achari chicken with brinjal bhagi, chilli mango and ginger chutneys, onion bhajhi, seekh kebabs and parathas. Brilliant recipe - succulent chicken and unctuous aubergine. Absolutely lovely.
This recipe uses simple ingredients, is easy to make, and gives tasty results!
Beef seekh kebabs, sizzling peppers and onions, cucumber raita and onion chutney, this was so easy and very tasty.
This is a firm family favourite. It is creamy and mild. Always a winner.
Had my very good friend round for lunch and we decided to do a bhuna. I'm still learning my way through the book and as we forgot to take photos, here's whats leftover which I'm taking to my step father this evening
Made with the pilau rice which lends itself to a drier curry. Absolute favourite out of all the books.
The Mango Chutney is one of my many favourite recipes in the "How to be a Curry Legend" book. It suggests that Pineapple can be substituted for Mango. I gave it a try. It too is delicious but not quite as good as Mango. I would rate the Pineapple version 4 stars and the Mango definitely 5 stars.
The first dish from the lovely new book "Chef's Specials". Fried the cheese rather than grilled and it got quite crispy. The recipe asked for 100 gms of Spinach but had to top that up with another 200 gms. Lovely meal though and thank you for the new book.
Bombay potatoes, sizzling peppers and onions, tandoori chicken, salad and yoghurt. It was lovely!
Made Lamb Dhansak from original Curry Legend book, delicious!
Christmas Dinner from the Spicery.
This was a lovely quick and simple mid week dinner full of flavour
Turkey Pathia (Christmas leftovers!) Bombay Potatoes Delicious!
Cook in my Ninja Air Fryer. Amazing
Pilau rice, chicken bhuna, bombay potatoes and onion bhajis. Went down a treat with the whole family
My three year old helper, is mastering making Mango Chutney
Sub'd chicken for the lamb. Blown away! Unbelievable flavours.
Goan Chicken Coconut Curry, Veg Rice, Brinjal Bhaji and Chapati. Excellent just like a takeaway but a quarter of the price
Used Turkey Mince and then followed the recipe. The lean Turkey mince absorbed the milk and then the cream but it was still moist and so specially flavoured. Classy taste and served with a naan. Delicious
We did 3 dishes, Balti, Vindaloo and Passanda, all very nice but Balti was favourite.
Excellent product. I've tried several of the recipes already. All were quite easy and turned out to be deliciious.
Four friends cooked a dish each and every one was so delicious and flavoursome. The fried aubergine dish was a quick additional extra but was a big hit amongst the group! Worth noting that for the Prawn Masala recipe I blended the sauce for a smooth consistency (the recipe doesn’t say to do this). 10/10 and can’t wait for left overs today!
I’m absolutely addicted to the spicey !!! Easy to follow recipes with fantastic results !!! This is Chicken tikka Masala, pilau rice and plain nann bread … the picture speaks for itself ! And was no effort at all for the authentic curry taste
We had this with a ‘curry feast’ - easy to make and very tasty
As I hadn't made Achari Chicken for a while I decided to do it again. It is a delicious mild curry and the Jeera blend gives it a distinctive flavour.
Absolutely delicious- recipe so easy to follow, felt confident to make midweek.
Balti has become our favourite dish, the flavour is amazing. We also had Vindaloo and peshwari naan. Loving these recipes.
So tasty and easy to prepare. Served with Bombay potato’s , mushrooms pilau rice and chutneys. The Green chutney is
Husband said it was the best he has ever had. We are on a gut health kick to boost microbiome diversity so substituted the yogurt for kefir - worked a treat!
The Balti is a firm favourite. Often we go chicken but we went lamb tonight and loved it!
First time for this one . Everything was delicious. Need a bit of practice with the pholourie. however hubby didn’t seem to mind . Clean plates !
I am not complaining but it made 8 Parathas - not 4 - and lasted for 4 meals for the 2 of us. We just looked forward to the next dinner to have the same. Really tasty and following the recipes for the various bits was as easy as ever
Needing a fat-free diet for a few weeks, this sounded perfect and it was. Also totally delicious.Pickles tasted a little grainy to start but with the rest were perfect. Thank you Spicery again
Chicken Pathia was nice and spicy, perfect weeknight meal.
This really is a superb recipe. Deeply spiced with the Methi and Haldi blends and picante with Mirchi and added green chillies. My wife’s favourite of all the Curry Legend recipes I have cooked. Thanks for making me look like a Curry Legend ;)
We had a load of carrots so tried this. Reallt fiery and perfect as a side. Enhances anything it goes with. Made Carrot Chutney before but this was the first time for this recipe - But not the last!!!!
Needed a lot more cooking than suggested for the Veg but we were ready for that. Followed the timing as for meat and it worked a treat. Lovely flavours seeping through every bite. A load in the freezer too for another day!!!
Fantastic and very tasty - Even the angry chef was smiling!!!
This is a delicate curry. It is the cream that really makes it special. It would appeal to those that prefer a milder curry
The Korma was nutty with the ground almonds, The Saag Aloo was a delight in this version and the Sultana and Rose Chutney was a wonder. We had it with flatbreads and as the photo shows, it worked a treat. A very different dish to the One-Pot-Wonder Korma. Much more work but definitely worth it.
Moghul chicken night with - Peshawari naan’s Mint and coriander Raita Spinach Spices side dish Rice
With the long slow cooking the pork was very tender. It was hot and spicy, and the vinegar gave it a tasty tanginess. Delicious!
Delicious, rich tender and tasty!
Totally addicted to Curry Legend!
Double thumbs up for the korma from Bonnie!
We made Butter Chicken, Saag Aloo, Mango Chutney and Cucumber Raita. The family loved it!
Such an easy recipe with full on flavour. Definitely joining one of or regular recipes for a quick meal.
Found the spices in a drawer (out of date) but tried all the same. Absolutely delicious. Use by date totally irrelevant. Added some cream to the potatoes and that was a success as well. What a feast we had and spread over 3 days. Thank you Spicery yet again. There is always too much to cook and not enough days!!!!
Hot mango chutney and pineapple and ginger chutney ready to enter into the village show!
So here we made Ankapur chicken, cucumber raita, homemade samosas & kachumber (with home grown chillies) A very wet Saturday but well spent cooking good food. Absolutely delicious!
If I could give this recipe more than 5 stars I would! Once you have made your own Naans, there's no going back. I prefer to make 8 smaller rather than 4 large ones. I got hold of some Ghee for the first time and I put plenty on these. They didn't last long!
One of my favourites is Pav Bhaji! I make my with sweet potato, hence the colour. So simple, it's a one pot meal. Great on its own but unbeatable in a bread bap or pitta! Easily does me a couple of nourishing lunches - I'm sure I don't work as hard as the factory workers in Mumbai though
A lovely-mid spiced curry with a good depth of flavour. I made this on the hob, but I'm thinking next time it could be a candidate for a slow cooker day. We made ours with onion, garlic, chilli, potato tomatos and the cucumber from the allotment. Would definitely have this again, wish you did this one as a refill blend.
Brilliant family recipe! Achari is a great child-friendly introduction to the next level of spice from Korma, and very easy to make. Benji and his little brother love it - two clean plates! Thanks Spicery
I enjoyed making and making (and eating!) this dish. The first stage of frying the onions until they're brown and caramelised really makes the difference. I enjoyed the flavour and the little kick of heat. I think this is a great alternative to Bombay Potatoes (How to be a Curry Legend p123)
Another fantastic mild recipe the kids love! A simple but delicious family favourite. The cashew sauce is divine and combined with the yoghurt marinade and spices this is a big winner
Saag paneer is a firm favourite of mine, but when the shop didn’t have any paneer I had to improvise. So I give you ….. saag tofu and button mushroom! Worked a treat! Swopped the yoghurt for kefir for a bit of added gut health too!
Curry Legend in the making! The whole family love Butter Chicken, dare I say its probably our #1 Spicery Recipe (if we ever had to choose). We love the sophistication and simplicity! Thank you Spicery Team!
Love this, buying more as gifts.
Absolutely brilliant and so easy to create a delicious curry.
Fabulous presentation of cookbook and spices.
My daughter delighted with set, well presented and excellent instructions, easy to folliw
The spice box was recommended by friends who had been given one. Enjoyed a fabulous curry they had prepared. Bought 3 for Christmas presents!
Have bought a number of these - for myself and as gifts. Everyone who's received it loves it.
Brilliant, I've used the Spicery for years now and have never had a bad word to say about their products or service. I've bought kits for myself and others and had resupplies of all the spice mixes plus any other spice I've needed to complete my collectio
Such a good product; loads of recipes to try, excellent flavours.
Bought a Christmas gift for a friend after receiving this kit as a gift myself. So easy to create amazing curries which have wowed friends and family. Brilliant
Excellent products, attractively presented
Easy to order on line and prompt delivery. Good quality product and presentation box.
This book is amazing. The blends allow you to cook a huge variety of curries and sides and it has encouraged me to push myself and experiment with different combinations. I love it!
I love everything about The Spicery website and the products are excellent. The cost of shipment £40 to Ireland and 6 days to get here was incomprehensible, hence 4 stars & future purchases ... we'll see...
Having received this as a Christmas present last year. I've bought it as a gift this year for a student who enjoys cooking in the hope that it will help them develop a new skill and allow them to share some fun curry nights with flat mates in the process
Very inspirational book, easy to use, lovely pictures.
I just love the book, the recipes and the results. Sadly I have been banned from cooking for a while by my wife as the freezer is getting too full. I always make enough to feed us for 3 or 4 meals at a time.

To be honest, this purchase of the Curry Legend kit was bought as a present for a relative, but the rating reflects the fact that I already have my own kit which I have been really pleased with.
I got the spicery for my boyfriend last year (the monthly subscription) between us we have made all 12 months of meals and some were better than others but over all they were amazing! So this year I bought him the cookbook with the 4 pots of spices and I

Super efficient, great recipes
Wow! This book is insane! How four spice blends can create such diverse curries is beyond me. Lovely sections on side dishes and chutneys too. Perfect!
I have read every page and will be attacking almost every single recipe one day. It is only the waist line and space in the fridge that stops me cooking. Thank you so much.

Fab. There was a problem with the company getting tins which meant a delay on delivery dates but they kept customers fully aware of the situation and we were notified when the delivery had been made.?

Excellent book and spice blends. Dived straight in and made a Chicken Madras, it was superb.
Really impressed with the easy to follow recipes, they taste every bit as good as any takeaway if not better you know exactly what is going into your meal.
Excellent spice mix and wonderful easy to follow recipes

Very quick and courteous service.
Excellent concept. Marvellous presentation - I love my spicery tin! Created two curries so far - both excellent and staggeringly authentic. Madras was especially awesome: if I had been served that in an Indian restaurant, I'd be going back every week. But
Great product, I have made some cracking curries from the book, I highly recommend the Spicery
Purchased as a gift for a friend. I was given the same gift on Fathers Day and was so impressed that I wanted to purchase the same gift for a friend.

Perfect gift for my friend! We can’t go out for a curry here in France so we have curry evenings at each other’s houses instead. Even better than a restaurant!
Lovely quality & well presented

Excellent excellent excellent

Easy online ordering and very prompt delivery.
Amazing, simple to follow recipes, including breads and sides which are quick to make. The four blends make it so easy that you really can’t go wrong and the recipes are easy to adapt to the slow cooker too!
Most of the meals are pretty nice, a few of them I can make better myself. Some of the instructions aren't that clear (e.g. 'cook for 50 minutes', rather than 'simmer' or 'boil'), . The delivery was about a week late, not the Spicery's fault, but they'd i

Speedy, especially considering the international delivery
I love this! Perfect spice mixes and beautifully presented, even with little measuring spoon!
We love curries, but always ended up with bought sauces as no idea how to make from scratch. The Curry Legend changed our lives. Absolutely amazing curries, from basic ingredients, and just help from the spice mixes and recipe book. You will not regret
The book is fab. Used it already to do various curries. My husband is a curry aficionado and pronounced each one fantastic. ‘Would pay for this’ 10/10. Well pleased

It was a gift, so I have to wait to be invited for a sample!

Had a blip with delivery, but customer service sorted the problem and was able to receive and gift before Christmas. Am looking forward to becoming a Curry Legend!
Perfect Christmas gift for a confirmed enthusiast for Spicery dinners. We're all looking forward to many evenings of cooking & eating your delicious recipes.
The Curry set including 4 spice blends and a recipe book is fantastic - we loved the background information on each curry plus the suggestion of other recipes and page references to 'add on' to make the meal complete. Also for non meat eaters it's useful
Please read previous comment, please go back to the tin.
Looks fantastic, can't wait to try more of the recipes!
Great gift for friends, they couldn’t wait to crack it open and get started with their spicing.
Great product! Would recommend!

Very happy with my purchase
Great curry blends. Excellent recipe book.
Looking forward to working my way through it.
Love the book and spice pack
I like the bok and spice box idea, very well thought through. One comment: why is it not possible to buy specific menus that I know you make, such as Ethiopian watt.
Great value special offer. Have used to make six curries already (2 meals with 3 dishes each) Very pleased with the results following the recipes
Product well packaged and delivered on time.
Excellent idea, straightforward, tasty recipes, simple combinations of spices. All our friends like to visit to eat them!

The tin and contents is lovely and a brilliant idea but I am still trying to locate the additional recipes from your website that you say are available. I cannot find them. i can only find options for purchasing various subscriptions.

Excellent service. Order delivered within 24hrs of placing, we'll packed and exactly as described.
Bought as Christmas gifts in sale. Excellent value for money am confident will be received with delight on Christmas Day.
Having already got our curry legend box earlier this year and been really impressed, we bought a couple more for family Christmas presents.
Once you open the box you will know why.
The lid is a close tight fit which is slightly difficult to open, but I’ll put up with this as it keeps the spices fresh. Great design particularly the montage of photos on the lid. Well done again
Great gift for Christmas!
The book is really clear (lots of photos), engaging and well designed. The recipes are great as usual: we have the monthly subscription to curry spices and it is great to try something a little bit different, but on the same "theme"
Great results, loved the curry as did my guest.
The spicery deserve it ..
Very good value, the gift was loved by the recipient. I was kicking myself for not having bought one and they had run out when I enquired.
Loved the cookbook, the illustrations and the instructions. Tried out one of the recipes and made a nan bread from scratch for the first time which was delicious. The selection of spice mixes made the food very straightforward to make.
It was a present for my boyfriend who thinks it is the best present ever...all we have eaten is curry since. The recipes are easy to follow and taste amazing couldn't recommend more highly!
Super speedy service. Well presented package.
I bought the Curry Legend Box as a present and I liked it so much I have decided to keep it for myself and buy another one!!
Great spices and recipes, and prompt delivery as always!
So easy to make and very very tasty. Can see me using this book very regularly
Very quick delivery (26hrs after order) but disappointed by expanded polystyrene packing peanuts rather than a more environmentally responsible option
Lovely gift and packaging. Swift delivery
Good product, will look forward to making the curries
Great tasting food every time
So many excellent meals from one little box!
Enjoyed very much when used
The dishes are varied and plentiful and the ingredients provided are of excellent quality. I find them better than the supermarket equivalent. The instructions are simple to follow and make delicious Currys
Completely personalised service and speedy delivery. Another great quality product.
Lots of new and exciting recipes to try! Love them all so far!
I still have NOT received my order despite it being placed nearly 3 weeks ago. Absolutely appalling service !
