Lovely meal, tastes amazing The apple chow complements the whole dish. The bara are so nice I’d recommend everyone try’s this fish
Beautiful dish The apple chow is amazing and truly complements the dish
We had a great time making this Panang Curry from the World Curries book and an even better time eating it! The coconut rice, carrot sambal and cucumber raita were the perfect accompanies to this dish! They were also from the Curry Legends book with nice easy recipes and incredible taste!
Kottu roti - something totally different from our World Curries book. We will definitely be making it again!
We tried the Burmese Golden Egg curry with Samosas. It was lovely as the whole family got involved with making it. My son got stuck into making the samosas, which you can see in our picture, which was fun. This was not our favorite box, a lot of prep and cooking but lacking in flavour delivery unfortunately.
Amazing curry! We originally made it from a subscription kit a few years ago. So glad to see it in the world curry legend book! Paired it with roti and cucumber kerabu. Amazing!
A Thai feast! Panang curry, jungle curry and greens. Absolutely gorgeous!
Trinidad chicken curry with rice & peas, apple chow, greens, bara & hot sauce.....your Caribbean recipes are unreal!
Absolutely loved this! The pastry is so delicious, the right amount of spice, and so buttery. Another favourite
Kottu Roti with coconut dhal and lunu miris. Love the carrot and cabbage in this one and the spicy sauce was immense!
Curry in a bun.....whats not to like. Yummy
Beef rendang with green chilli sambal. Perfect for a rainy Sunday!
We had another helping of Jambalaya but no spinach so out came the carrots and the World Curries Book to make some Carrot Sambal. I found a bit of cucumber and some radishes to add to it for extra colour. As it is Monday no Cava just clean water. Luverly
We could have done without the Coconut Sambol but the rest was delicious (+More for Tomorrow!!) The Vodka + Pink Fizz were because it's Friday. A new taste to us both and definitely to be repeated.
Fried chicken is a modern Japanese Christmas tradition apparently so what better than this Christmas Katsu with spiced red cabbage. Scrummy!
When I eat out I always like a light and fresh bread & these are the restaurant quality even if I do say so myself, or better.
Yum! Our first go at a recipe, and definitely not the last!
Made these sweet corn dumplings twice now, really moorish and crispy.
Delicious Panang curry with garlic pilau rice and a side of Jamaican Festival Dumplings! 10/10 for scrumptiousness. YUM
Pork Kalu Pol with Pol Roti, Kale Mallung and Lunu Miris. Really tasty and loved the addition of the spiced up greens!
Got the spicery kit as a birthday present Recipe worked well Absolutely delicious
Another winning recipe crispy onions, fresh chilli
Excellent recipes thank you this is my wonderful curry night
Lovely meal. Had never heard of a pholourie before but they were delightful with the apple chutney and tamarind sauce. Such a yummy meal! The spices in the base of the cheesecake tasted amazing too.
Really easy to make and delicious. If you haven’t made these yet you have to get on and make them.
Perfect blend of spices giving this English classic an exciting twist. A little longer recipe to cook but worth the effort.
Made this super easy fish curry tonight, took no time at all and hardly any prep, will use again!
Really nice, tried it with chicken rather than pork. Didn't have fresh basil so I used dried but still amazing flavours.
My favourite! Chicken panang, great with beef and halloumi too!
I made 4 different recipes from this book and they all turned out great and delicious. I love the spice mixes.
This curry was one the best Curry Legend recipes we've made. We swapped out the pork for chicken and made the chilli salt fruit and nam prik pla accompaniments. Really tasty and we can't wait to make it again.
Never done a Trinidadian curry before but will be again it’s going on my list of favourites
Excellent. Flavoursome filling, nice pastry and the jeera blend sprinkling on the top finishes it beautifully. Will make again
Chinese Chip Shop Curry in a Pie with some Indian Onion Chutney (Veg Curry book) and a glass of Japanese Beer. A real international feast and seconds for tomorrow. What a way to start the long weekend.
Trinidad Curry Chicken (P 134) + Carrot Sambal (P 180). The green "Trini" sauce was delicious and the carrot Sambal cooled the hot curry a little. It was a joy to try something else different. Thank you.
I’m finding the bread the hardest part, the chicken was lovely, very tasty with a bit of a kick...
This dish went from a “ Urrgh I’m not eating that” to a “ Oh wow, delicious” I used PG tips, but might try Yorkshire next time! Recipe easy to follow and dish fun to make! Apologies for photo , dish is behind book, should be in front!
Easy to cook smelt amazing beef was tender a lovely warm spicy taste just alittle tingle from the warmth all round tasty beef
Cow peas in place of beans and served with Stewed Bodi, Acar Timun and Kosambari. Enough for a load of meals. The Cow peas took for ever to cook so the taste infused all through. Lovely.
Burmese curry with naan breads, mango chutney and pooris. Delishous!!
A South East Asian feast tonight of Beef rendang, Opor Ayam, Coconut rice, Roti Jala, Malaysian braised veg, Acar Timun, Nam prik pla & red chilli sambal - absolutely delicious. Thank you Spicery.
The hibiscus cheesecake to finish was lovely!
The hibiscus Cheesecake to finish the date night in Trinidad was lovely.
So me and my partner were in Thailand and bali 2 years ago and panang was always my favorite we've done all the Thai recipes and this is 100% my favorite, 2nd time we've made it and everytime I lose my mind over it, recommended it to all my travel friends and anyone else who will listen! Pre ordered the set for my best friend's 30th in July!!
These were so much easier to make than I expected! Our first recipe from the Curry Legend World cookbook and one we will make again. Very tasty and the pastry was easy to work with.
Brilliant! We loved it :)
Bloody delicious! Drops microphone
One of our favourite recipes great flavour, heat balance just right even though we were concerned about putting in 3 red chillis! Definitely no need to go to the curry house when things get back to normal. Having travelled through Thailand numerous times this is very close to the authentic curries. Thank you to The Spicery for another great recipe!
Friday night lockdown curry - Malaccan Devil’s curry with paratha rotis and rice. Super spicy and delicious!
Amazing!! Flavours all worked well together, loved the marinated aubergine worked so well.
Nice and easy prep. and no compromise on taste. Like this different way of cooking aubergine. Didn't have lemongrass so substituted, will have to try again with it.
Free sample trialed and loved!
Seriously mind blowing. I also cooked it for women fellowship dinner at my church and it was very well received, everyone loved it.
OMG this was the freebie sachet and it was amazing!!!!
Amazing...even better that it was a free sample. Thankyou...my son said, "that was the best spicery ever..."
Absolutely devine. We did the Malaccan Devil's Curry, and also the Jungle Curry. They were both so easy, and so so so delicious. Both from the new World Curries book! We love The Spicery!
Absolutely love this it's the second time we have done this recipe but the first time I was too excited to tuck in I forgot to take a picture. Great fun to make and super tasty. Also if your watching your waste it's a very healthy make (extra adds depending) at around 500 calories a serving! Enjoy peeps!
The best birthday present ever! A subscription to 'World Kitchen Explorer'. We've been honing our kitchen skills during lockdown, and this was so much fun to make... and even more incredible to eat! Trinidad wasn't ever on our radar for recipes, but it definitely will after this: fragrant, sweet, sour, moreish and utterly delicious. You have to try it.
Made this with Quorn and mushrooms and really enjoyed it. A very different curry to what we normally make. Good, fresh, deep flavors. Saved some of the broth to use as a marinade for tofu.
Super easy delicious tasting recipe. Personally I would slightly reduce the Mirchi Blend and cook another hour.
Zesty creamy curry easy to make and the kitchen smelled amazing. Definitely better than a Saturday night take away.
Great flavours and loved the carrot sambol
Made this the other day, first batch got overcooked slightly so ended up like chilli toffee, heated it back up and put some more water in and hey presto back to where it should have been. Added some home grown Birdseye chillies and it was fantastic. Makes quite a large amount so i have frozen half for the next meal. Highly recommended
Malaccan devils curry with pooris cauliflower 65 and mint raita, amazing curry evening al fresco, all easy to make and 11/10 for taste
Jungle curry and tomato rice, super easy, super tasty!
Bangladeshi Fish Curry made with king prawns, slices of fried courgette with mirchi spice mix, Sri Lankan Mallung and Jeera rice. The usual Mint Raita and Chulli Garlic Chutney to accompany. What a superb combination! Really great recipes.
Absolutely delicious recipe that all in our house enjoyed. Will definitely be making this again.
Has become a favourite in our house! I've made it many ways....with ground lamb, with chicken thighs, with chicken breast, totally vegan....and it's been a hit each and every time !
I have made this Laksa many time now it’s DELICIOUS go for it
A stunningly simple easy recipe to follow which was packed full of flavour! One of my favourite from The Spicery❤
This is a delicious recipe.
Great flavoured curry and definitely worth the wait. The kitchen now smells amazing. Personally we found it quite oily so will make again and reduce the oil.
Delicious fish curry served with Sri Lankan Mallung and Saffron Rice
Delicious spicy pie with mash and peas
We enjoyed this but the aubergine broke down quite a lot and formed the sauce. A good curry but lacking a bit more spice or a sour kick for our personal taste. Great to try another of the world curries gradually working our way round the world!
Great recipe spot on flavour. If I could have given it higher than a 5/5 I would have!! This is definitely my favourite Thai curry. We adjusted the recipe based on advice we were given when travelling in Thailand and used tinned potatoes. This may sounds strange but they hold their shape best when cooking.
Delicious! Will definitely be making this again, in fact I'm pretty sure it's going to become a regular on the menu
Top notch Goat Curry recipe - it doesn’t get better than this!
Amazing fruity heat with this one. Slow cooking the goat gives you a wonderful tender dish. Butter chicken, bahjis, paratha and somosas made to complete the banquet.
We chose to make this with diced pork shoulder as recommended and it tasted amazing. Good level of heat and tang with the pineapple we will definitely make this one again.
Beautiful lamb Ayam Rendang from Curry Legend World Curries, complete with the “Goes Great With...” accompaniments suggested by Spicery (and local beer suggested by me!!). Looking forward to the next curry night. Thanks Spicery.
I wanted to make a lot so set up a mini factory with treble the jam. Added caramelised onion and tamarind with the paprika. Cooked it long and slow and the result was just gorgeous. there may even be some for tomorrows Bobotie!!!!
This one certainly has some heat great depth of flavour we used all pork shoulder and the meat was so tender another great recipe from The Spicery.
Superb amount of flavours from very few ingredients, really liked the combo of fresh tasting cucumber with salad slides combined with the heat of the Lunu Miris. The actual Roti was divine!
We decided to have some Okra cooked your way and they were delicious especially alongside the Singapore Noodles with the amazing honey-soy-vinegar sauce. What a lovely meal for a wet Sunday evening.
Absolutely delicious! Best curry we’ve made out of the book so far!
This was absolutely delicious. Very interesting elements including delicious boiled eggs! Try it! It’s a taste sensation.
Delicious and unique. A must try.
Made this with Quorn chicken pieces and tofu - it was lovely. A gentle heat with great flavour.
Definitely restaurant quality, cant wait to make it again
This was amazing loved the combination of tastes and textures. I was unable to get Pak Choi and instead used Bak Choi but the pickled stalk was amazing as a garnish. The dish was vibrant and appealing to the eye and tasted gorgeous. A really delicious noodle soup and the punchy chilli oil was a great addition. Thanks Spicery I am going to make this a regular dish in our house.
A bit mild for the adults but perfect for the younger kids
Was so dubious about this dish at first but my gosh I didn’t need to worry! It was so tasty! Made it slightly less brothy by accident but was still super delicious.
Very easy and very tasty!
So good we had to buy five more of them! Just epic
No beef in the freezer so used a pack of sausages and added sweetcorn and peas. Tasted delicious and now waiting for the noodles and boiled eggs to finish it off. Yet another wonderful free sample from The Spicery - Thank you.
Cooked for two hours, using supermarket beef, which was surprisingly tender! Have never cooked with lemongrass up to doing so with this recipe, but it produced a delightful meal, combined with fresh ginger, lime and the spice mix. I topped the dish with crispy battered shallots, another (tasty) first, and a boiled egg. Highly recommended!
Another delicious freebie!
Super tasty! I also added left over Mazavaroo chilli sauce to spice it up.
This is a phenomenal curry! Mild and creamy with the spice of the mazavaroo chilli sauce and the cooling but slightly spicy pineapple. I also added some bashed cardamom pods to the rice when cooking.
My presentation is shocking...but this tasted so so good. So the kottu Roti was my main, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was just about the right level of spice for me and I liked that it was fairly easy to cook once the prep was done as it is essentially a stir fry. It's a really good recipe for cabbage which is a veg I don't normally have unless I'm making coleslaw so loved using a new veg for a main course and side dish. It went well with the 2 sides...Sri lankan Mallung...which was fantastic and will be made again!! And coconut Dhal...another one that will be a staple with my curries. I also made the Chapatti bread for the kotu roti myself from the curry legend book. There was a lot of prep for this meal, it was a challenge for someone who is by no means a professional chef...I'm a 20 minutes to chop an onion kinda girl...but it was doable, I did it and I'm so proud of myself. Me and my partner would definitely put the kottu Roti into a regular rotation for a really good curry.
Absolutely gorgeous. I ended up adding the entire tin of coconut milk, so as not to waste any, and reducing the amount of water accordingly. Just made it richer and creamier. I think I made a mistake adding the finely sliced shallot (in my case red onion) to the pickle but it was still super delicious. I also had some left over bean sprouts which I added in the following day with some prawns for lunch. This recipe is so good that my neighbour saw a photo and has now also bought the curry legend world curry book and set and I’ve got money to put towards the Curry legend set! :-)
On a Wednesday we normally have curry and therefore Thursday is Mulligatawny soup day for lunch. This is a super recipe. It sounds like it will be heavy with rice and lentils but the lemon juice and coriander really make it very tasty. I didn’t have chicken legs so used chicken thighs. Given the lack of tasty goodness from the bones I added a chicken stock cube and a half tsp of salt. It’s not too hot chilli wise which is great, you can always add more chilli but can’t take it away. I added a couple of slices of fresh chilli (big ones so not over powering) which were really nice. Roti Paratha. YES! I love paratha- more straight forward to make than you think but I probably added to much oil to the rotii. Still tasted great though! :-).
Expected this one to be more soupy great flavour and and even better when it’s a free gift!
Really nice mild refreshing curry. If you are not a fan of crunching through lemon grass recommend removing before serving. We served it with Carrot Sambal which is super quick to make and really refreshing, cucumber Kerabu using half cucumber and half mango as per one of the also works well with tips and, the bit I am most pleased with Pol Roti. With the Roti the first i made i dry fried as per instructions but it took a long time to cook out the flour. The second one I made I added some oil to the pan. The smell when cooking took me straight back to the Golden Temple in Amritsar with all the ladies teaching me and laughing at my very poor rolling out technique and inability to get any chapati circular! It was DELICIOUS!
Great free sample this month, warming citrusy Asian noodle soup made with carrots and broccoli for a veg version. Made a delicious’Cauliflower 90’ from Curry Legend Veg on the side too. Always better than getting a takeaway!
Durban butter chicken with samosas, carrot sambal, pol roti rice and a chakalaka bean salad. Good fun to make but I would say the samosas do take a bit of time! Make in advance of the curry!
Miris Malu Curry with coconut dhal, coconut Sambal, paratha and pilau rice. Chickened out on 5 tsp of mirchi blend! Went for 1.5 instead since that chilli blend is lethal hot. The curry was just spicy enough for us. The coconut Sambal was sensationally good really refreshing and the dhal (which sometimes can be quite bland) was rally flavoursome. Another great meal from the curry legend world curry book. :-)
My fave from World Curry Legend book, this is amazing!!
Easter Curry treat with the Bunnies! Durban Butter chicken with Coconut Sambol (which is so good), Aubergine with Mirchi blend, South African Samoozas, Spicy Cauliflower and basmati rice. Perfect. :-)
Hang Lay with steamed Pak Choi, Jasmin rice, chilli salt fruit and paratha (just because I love paratha!). I thought the recipe looked odd adding pickled ginger and garlic at the end but it is super tasty! :-)
Best thing I've ever eaten. Also added some of the haldi blend to the mash and topped it off with some mango chutney, worked a treat!
Jackfruit and Carrot Mee Rebus with Egg Noodles
This was amazing great flavour and I love Udon noodles! The pickled radish was a good contrast. Very easy to make will definitely make this one again.
Really tasty and loved the different textures with the addition of the crunchy pickles and the soft noodles and egg. Will definitely make again
I think the empty plate and the smile say it all! Made this recipe without salt and just swooped the stock for extra coconut milk and boom it was baby friendly! Lots of mmmm’s and yummm’s from Bonnie!
A lovely spiced chicken with an added kick from the lunu miris. The cucumber side was a great addition. I would definitely make the whole dish again. In the meantime I made slightly extra so no need to cook after a 10hr shift tomorrow:-)
Absolutely delicious, looking forward to the next time.
Veggie tofu Katsu curry! No compromise on taste in this plant-based dish. I think my son was hinting when he bought me a meat-free subscription, but when food tastes this good it’s no miss. Even hubby was a convert. Sublime!
Winner winner, Ghanaian dinner!! Our favourite so far!!! Stunning!
Delicious balance of heat and sweetness, and very easy to make for a mid week meal
Tastes amazing and so easy
Amazing flavour with a hot sauce that blew my socks off! Perfect for a chilly winter evening dreaming of sunnier days x
15/3/22 - This was very tasty! Probably not worth doing with duck cost wise so would do with chicken next time. The lemon grass proved to be a bit of a pain probably because I bashed it with the rolling pin too much making it much harder to pick out of the curry. Suggest doing it very lightly and picking it out before serving.
This dish is an absolute winner. So easy to make with such strong flavors.
22/3/22 - A bit vinegary this one with the pickled ginger and garlic but a nice heat. May give a repeat a miss and try something else.
27/3/22 - lovely butter chicken and enjoyed the different cooking method to other butter chicken recipes
My husband said it was the best meal he’d ever had!
14/5/22 - another nice dish. Nice alternative to traditional Korma
17/5/22 - nice pork dish made with mushroom pilau nice.
1/6/22 - a fantastic curry that I will be repeating. Long time cooking but worth it for the rich taste
22/6/22 - cooked these meatballs on a wim. Luckily I had all ingredients in. Delicious! We had the extra sauce mixed through pasta, sausage and mushroom. This meal was just as nice as the first.
I absolutely love this salad and often make it as a side for my curry dishes. What’s more, my dad who hates salad loves it too. Lazy tip of the day, if short on time it still works well without frying some of the onions
Very tasty! Very very spicey!
Cabbage never tasted so good!
Couldn't find chicken legs in store so used thighs. Couldn't have been tastier
I used lamb rather than beef and the result was delicious!!
Really nice. Don’t often make curry using pork
We loved the sauce, it was deliciously creamy and mild. This recipe is currently my favourite, that is until I try my next new Curry Legend dish.
Bunny Chow from World Curries served with a mixed veg curry from Veg Curries. Serving in a bread bowl made a nice change from rice.
New Year’s Day…left over BEEF SMORE made into a pie….something from the Gods ❤️
When our Hogmanay celebration was bring an “Asian influenced” dish affair - I knew I had to go spicery. The beef Rendang and a spring veg Penang went down a storm with the group!
Brown Stew - swapped the chicken for beef as suggested and it is equally as tasty. Served with rice and peas and mango hot sauce.
Enjoyed this curry which reminded me of a wet Keralan Beef Fry that I had whist in Kerala. Made a nice change to the usual curries we have.
Delicious whole family loved it
Good service, well packaged. As Christmas presents for others they haven't been used yet. Would recommend.
Such clever, tasty recipes and all with four spice blends. Great.
The spicery is brilliant! It started for us nearly two years ago after a gift voucher was given to us. We order all the time, the world cook book is a present for Christmas. I'm sure it will be amazing.
Better than the previous thin version, this one has great recipes
Very prompt delivery and beautifully presented, well packaged goods. Website, recipes, spices are all exceptional quality and the meals taste very authentic.
