So excited to test out our chefs specials book. Living in Switzerland it can be hard to find good curry. Now we have it regularly at home for our date nights after the kids are in bed. Our first meal from the new book was Chicken shatkora, masala dal and chitranna. Nom nom nom!

I was excited to try this as it was my first from the new Chef's Special book. It was very good indeed. The chicken was moist and the rice fragrant. I will definitely try it again. Thanks Spicery for the new book, you certainly keep me drooling.

You can't go wrong with a classic biryani, and that one looks delicious! We're so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed your first Chef's Specials dish and hope you enjoy cooking your way through the book!

Chef’s Special book. Methi chicken, chitranna & wholemeal chapatis. Stunning & wonderful food. The Wife said she would happily pay for this in a restaurant. Maximum flavour, minimum effort. The Spicery does it again

Everything looks delicious, Stephen - and what a wonderful combination of dishes! Definitely restaurant-quality, brilliant job!

A really different dish to my usual dhal repertoire. Really like the fried garlic and tomato oil you add at the end!

Isn't everything better with fried garlic oil poured over the top?! Great job mixing it up and trying something new with this delicious dhal!

My first dish out of the new Chef’s Specials! Really lovely rich silky sauce. Love all that spinach too! Does this mean curry is now one of your 5 a day! Yipee!

Getting your 5 a day has never been so delicious! Great job, Betty - that methi chicken looks really rich and nourishing.

Another #clchefsspecials meal Methi chicken, palak kishmish and chitranna Fabulous flavours, juicy chicken. The spinach was lovely and silky and the peanuts added a nice change of texture. A definite one to be repeated

A great way to get loads of spinach into your meal! We're so pleased to hear how much you loved this combination of dishes - it looks like a fabulous feast!

Ceylon Chicken with Chana Chaat and Sweet and Sour Tomato Curry for tea tonight - family loved it! Chana chaat so refreshing and a great accompaniment to the curries, which were both delicious. Thumbs up!!

That looks like a wonderful weekend curry, Susan - great idea to pair the tangy chaat with the curries to add a bit of freshness. Looks delicious!

Made with the suggested Tandoori saag paneer and coconut raita. Pretty spectacular.

We're really happy to hear how much you enjoyed this curry, Steve!

This recipe is a winner. I loved how the onions, tomato puree, tomatoes and spices developed into a beautiful sauce. The prawns and marinade then gently cooked and combined into an amazing dish.

Yum - that looks like an incredibly rich and delicious sauce! Great job with this one, we're really pleased to hear how much you enjoyed it!

Usually I always go for the spiciest of spicy curries so this was a departure from my norm. The right creaminess was lovely and a welcome change.

It's good to mix it up every once in a while! We're pleased to hear how much you enjoyed this mild, creamy curry, and we're loving the festive back-drop!

"Chef's Specials" scores again. We had a packet of dried Mango that had been sitting around for ages. Here was its chance and sweet, juicy and succulent. Just perfect and loads more recipes to try - Heaven - well almost

We're so happy to hear how much you loved this sweet, fruity curry, and we hope you enjoy discovering loads of favourites in the new book!

We love the spicery pickles and chutneys so much I make extra. This year, I've made some to share as Christmas presents.

What a great idea, Tracy! These look fantastic, and no doubt they will be very warmly received!

Blithe's first self-made curry...she did everything from slicing the garlic and defrosting the prawns to blending the sauce! A really tasty curry with great depth! She says - "it's a lot tastier than a Korma, and more flavourful too!".

Great job, Blithe - sounds like you did an amazing job! We're so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed the depth of flavour in this delicious prawn curry!

5/5

Yummy recipes for onion bhaji and chicken pakora and here's the result. Won't last long!

Wow, they look amazing - fantastically golden and crispy! Nice work!

5/5

One of my go to vegetable dishes to accompany another meat curry. Especially popular with members of the family with a low heat threshold.

We're really pleased to hear how much you and your family enjoy this veg dish, Robin!

Loving the new book !

Great to hear it, Tim - that looks like a fantastic Curry Legend feast (and we're loving the personalised chef's hat!)

5/5

Simple but delicious. Substituted the spinach for kale as we had a tonne of it.

Great idea to use kale instead of spinach - this looks delicious and full of green goodness!

4/5

I had some potatoes and spinach needing used up, so this was an obvious recipe to try. It was great, I enjoyed how good the potatoes tasted and the freshness of the lemon juice.

This looks delicious, Robin - a classic curry side dish and a great way to use up your veg!

5/5

A quick little accompanying dish that was a last minute addition to our meal as we had spare tomatoes. Simple to make but I think really added something big to our meal!

Great quick-thinking to use up your spare tomatoes and whip up this spicy little chutney - we're really pleased to hear that despite being quick and simple to make it really added another level of flavour to your meal!

4/5

I really liked this simple rice dish. It makes an interesting change from plain rice. The coconut and fried nuts give a satisfying savoury edge. I used the flaked almond suggestion, next time I'm going to try the cashew nut version.

It certainly looks spectacular and sophisticated, a great alternative to plain rice - nice work!

5/5

I would love to visit Sri Lanka, but until I do I thought I'd get a flavour of it through this recipe. I enjoyed toasting the coconut and spices before blending them with the other ingredients to make the sauce. It was so worth the effort to get such a full flavour. I followed the suggestion of pairing it with South Indian Coconut Rice, a perfect combination!

That looks like a fabulously rich curry, Robin - we're really happy to hear how much you enjoyed this little taste of Sri Lanka, and hope you get a chance to visit in the future!

4/5

This curry is quite dry and has a deep concentrated flavour. This is achieved by cooking it for a long time. It's worth the wait!

YUM, this looks incredibly rich and delicious! Happy spicing!

5/5

This is an awesome recipe. I made it with the full quota of Naga chillies and the result was the fiery and extremely tasty Phal that I remember from a great curry house in Coventry I used to frequent when I was younger. One of my favourite Curry Legend recipes. Thanks The Spicery team.

Well done for being brave enough to include all of the chillies in this incredibly fiery phal! We're so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed it, and that it brought back happy memories of curry-eating in Coventry!

4/5

This is my second time of making South Indian Coconut Rice. The first time I used the flaked almond suggestion, which was great. This time I tried the alternative suggestion of using cashew nuts. It too is really savoury and tasty.

It's great to hear that you're enjoying adapting these dishes and trying all sorts of different varieties - this nutty rice looks delicious!

5/5

This is a beautifully delicate, fragrant and mild curry. I'm not sure that I would eat it for breakfast at Christmas though!

Haha - it's certainly a bit different to our usual Christmas morning breakfast, too... but a undoubtedly a delicious dinner! Great to hear how much you enjoyed the subtle fragrant flavours!

5/5

One of the (many) things I love about the Curry Legend recipes is that you find a favourite, only to be replaced by a new favourite. Chicken Tikka Masala is my new absolute favourite. It is rich and creamy with a tangy tomato flavour. I know I will be making this again soon.

It's an absolute classic, you really can't go wrong! Your presentation looks restaurant-quality, too - great job!

5/5

Well…I have tried many recipes for a Prawn Puri, nothing comes close. This recipe is absolutely amazing and would recommend to everyone. Even taste better than one from an Indian. I have made this many times now and have delivered to family, who have also enjoyed. It is definitely worth the purchase. If I could score higher, I would.

Thank you for your wonderful review, Tanya! We're SO pleased to hear how much you love this recipe (we hate to blow our own trumpet, but we think it's pretty delicious too)!
