Bursting with amazing flavours, love the creamy paneer with tangy sauce.
Our first recipe from the new Curry Legend book and it didn’t disappoint!
This looks delicious Katy- thank you for sharing and it's great to see that you are enjoying the new Curry Legend Veg book!
Lovely creamy curry. Loads of flavour in this dish definitely makes Cauliflower desirable. Quick and easy to make, could easily be a busy weekday meal.
We're happy to hear you enjoyed this meal and it was easy to make! It's a favourite here at Spicery HQ too!
OMG these are mind blowing. Not only its so easy to make, the are so soft. Looks so professional if you want to impress and goes with variety of curries. Even my little fussy eater loves it, Win win.
We're happy to hear everyone enjoyed this meal! Hats off to the chef- it looks like the Kulchas came out perfectly!
Like the balance in flavours, very different from my usual curry. Simple yet elegant. Loving my new Curry Legend Veg book, you don't disappoint. I am a fan.
Thanks so much for your great feedback Neha! We're really happy to hear that you enjoyed this meal and are loving the new Cookbook!
Wow this is really good. Enjoyed them with South Indian Sambar and Coconut Chutney. The whole family loved it. We ate more than the recommended portion size so I doubled it for next time
This meal looks absolutely delicious Neha! You have made us very hungry here at Spicery HQ!
I had some Trini Geera Pork left and needed some veg. Out came the I Am a Curry Legend Veg Dishes and I found this EXCEPT I had Broccoli in the fridge. Against the spicy pork, the cashew and coconut with the green veg was stunning. Thanks as ever Spicery. Christopher
Glad you enjoyed it- it sounds delicious with the broccoli too! Thanks for sharing and happy spicing!
SO so easy and yet the very best. I added the tomato slices to add colour. I am already looking forward to leftovers tomorrow. Perfectly absolutely amazingly gorgeous. Christopher
Looks like this came out perfectly and we love the pop of colour from the tomato slices- delicious!
Good enough to eat entirely on its own. BUT we didn't have to as the Spicery had given us other things to try. Loved the tangy lemon with the salty dry roasted nuts. Wonderful. Diet next week - OR the week after!!!!
Yum- a delightful combination of flavours! We think the diet can wait until January..!
There seemed to be so little to it that I expected it to be a bit bland BUT OH NO the Spicery got it so right again. I included some spinach and that worked but the mildness allowed the tastes to come through. Reminiscent of Veg Curries in North India. Sublime.
This looks so tasty and nourishing- the perfect winter warmer! Thanks for sharing and happy spicing!
The combination of the flavours were just right. I have loved Egg Curries for well over 60 years but this was one of the very best. I will definitely be making this again - and again - and AGAIN
This looks eggs-cellent! We're happy to hear that it was egg-ceptionally tasty!
NYE lunch with friends. Granada, Spain. Punjabi Chole Bhature, Gutarati Muthiya, Egg & Potato Biryani, Onion Bhajis, Brinjal Pickle & Mango Chutney.
Wow what a wonderful way to celebrate New Years Eve- it looks like everything came out perfectly, the Bhature look so fluffy and delicious! Thanks for sharing, happy New Year and happy spicing!
Not enough mushrooms so added some parsnip and a little spinach. Used baby tomatoes for eye appeal. Served with onion & cucumber Raita and lemon rice. This was a free sample but will be cooked again, there is no doubt.
Wow- this looks delicious, great idea adding some parsnip and spinach! Thanks for sharing and happy spicing!
Both dishes are amazing, I adapted the Prawn Dhansak and used butternut squash (instead of prawns) that I roasted first for 30 mins and then added the lemon juice when it came out of the oven (lemon juice used to marinate prawns in the main recipe!)
The substitution of butternut squash for prawns sounds incredible - our mouths are watering! Thanks for sharing, great job!
Brilliant veggie dish and side dishes went down a treat with the whole family.
Yummy! Thanks for sharing!
The broccoli was way past its prime so out came the book, the spices and some coconut milk. 20 mins later a real delight. Thank you so much lovely Veggie Book
Glad you're also enjoying the Curry Legend Veg cookbook!
Cracking curry night courtesy of The Spicery. Paneer Tikka Masala, Mushroom Balti, Sag Aloo, Baingan Ka Salan, Coconut Chutney, Onion Chutney and a Mint Raita to help cool things down. Delicious!
Wow wish we could be there, looks amazing!
Parsnip Masala Dav (P108) with some left over Roast Chicken and without the Bread Rolls. The first Spicery Recipe using all 4 Mixes at the same time. Tasty, great to look at and perfect in every way. Happy to say there's enough for 2 more meals
Looks delicious and how fantastic that there was enough for more meals- a win win! Thanks for sharing and happy spicing!
Lovely!!
Hooray- we're swooning over the mushrooms in this delicious meal! It looks like you did a fantastic job- yum!
Garlic Mushroom Balti (p39), Saag Bhaji (p158) with Lemon & Peanut Rice (p166) all from the Veg Book. What a lovely meal, easy to cook and pure heaven to eat. Enough for 2 days in a row. Thank Yoooooo!!!!
Looks like a grand feast to us, and what a bonus that there was enough for leftovers- truly (curry) legendary!
First attempt; - Garlic Mushroom Balti - Onion Bhaji - Mango Chutney - Garlic and Coriander Rice..
Yummy! The onion bhajis look perfectly crispy- it's hard to believe this was a first attempt, well done!
Onion pakora curry with bhature! My favourite so far from Curry Legend.
WOW- hats off to the chef, this looks incredible and the bhature is so fluffy! This is a favourite at Spicery HQ too!
Easy to follow recipe and absolutely delicious. Really tasty with complex layers of flavours. The whole family loved it, especially followed with the pistachio barfi with chai.
Yummy what a treat! The bhature looks so fluffy and we absolutely love all the flavours in this recipe too- a favourite at Spicery HQ!
Well not exactly veggie. Sichuan Dan Dan with Courgette and Leek Kadhi (and added tomatoes for colour) served with some bulgur on the side. The courgettes were made with coconut milk in place of yoghourt and were gorgeous.
This looks absolutely delicious! Lovely colours and it looks amazingly rich with the coconut milk- yum!
Lamb Balti, Pilau Rice, Bombay Potatoes, Chilli Raita and Cucumber Raita. At home date night was a success! Pleasure to cook together and eat. Food was full of flavour. Can't wait for the next one.
Amazing, we love a rich and buttery Balti and the sauce looks so flavoursome- perfect date night food! We look forward to seeing your future Spicery creations!
The Lentils make such a difference and create a dish for the Gourmet. Serve it with anything and it finishes off any feast. Pure heaven.
Yummy, this looks fantastic and we love the bright orange colour! Glad you enjoyed it!
Mother's Day Sunday roast with an Fusion twist. Saag Aloo, Green Peas Masala, Summer Veg Subji and a bit of local asparagus in Asparagus Poriyal. Fusion at it's best!!
What a feast - happy spicy mother's day!
Palak Dhal (P122), Garlic Mushroom Balti (P39) & Green Peas Masala (P150). I had never cooked any of them before BUT I most certainly will again. They all went well together too.
Looks like an incredible feast and like all the flavours complemented each other perfectly- delish!
No Paneer so as suggested used Eggs with the Asparagus Pasanda (P300. Added cream and roasted almonds on the plate. Served it with a delicious Onion Chutney (P220). what a meal.
Looks like a great combination and it sounds extra indulgent and tasty with the addition of cream, we wish we could try some!
Gujurati Dumplings (P96) had too much flour and were solid but the Tomato & Radish Salad (P162) and the Mango Pickle (P212) were total wonders.
Sorry the dumplings were a bit solid this time, if you ever want advice about a specific recipe just shout and we'll be more than happy to advise! Glad you enjoyed the salad and pickle though!
Theplas (P182) were mind boggling. How they stay crisp when sauces are poured over (See here with a wee Thali!!!!) I do not know; but the taste was sublime and the crunch ecstatic. Enough dough in the clingfilm for at least another 6. Fab!!!!
Woah- everything looks fantastic! An amazing array of flavours and what a bonus you'll be able to enjoy more Theplas very soon!
Baingan Ka Salan (P56), Tarka Dhal (P132) and Theplas (P182 were joined by a Veggie version of The World's Easiest Curry (Curry Legend Book) & salad. The Aubergine a real eye-opener and the mix was great. As usual the Theplas were extraordinary. What a discovery!!
What a spread - nice one! Happy spicing!
Today’s lockdown boredom avoidance task. Done and yum!
Ha - brilliant! Happy spicing!
Moghul Egg Curry (eggcelent) with Saag Aloo (A little bland) Fabulous Onion Chutney and Cucumber Kosambari, all on a chappati. A beer for me and vodka for her ladyship and it all just disappeared. Nothing more to say then!! Lovely Sunday evening meal.
Brilliant, glad you enjoyed it!
Mixed Veg Curry (P42), Rice & Poppadum with leftover Saag Aloo & Cucumber Kosambari with the fantastic Onion Chutney. So easy to make and perfect. Why would anybody buy it ready made?
Why indeed! Great job!
My first attempt at: Lime Pickle, Mango Chilli Chutney, Coriabder Mint Raita with Paneer Tikka Masala, Onion Pakora Curry, Saag Bhaji and Beef Seekh Kebabs...all by myself! #morespicesrequired!
Wow, great job Zoe! Happy spicing!
Made these for brunch with my husband, delicious and fun to make
Ooh nice idea! Happy spicing!
Got a bag of the fine asparagus from our local grower, the least popular normally. But with some Spicery magic turned them into a great delicious starter. Much darker looking than the Spicery picture but you can't win them all.
Looks great to us! Happy spicing!
Mango Chilli Chutney (p218) was the afternoons effort as we had a Mango that just had to be used. It seemed a lot of vinegar as we started but with a little extrsa honey the taste was perfect. We will use more Mirchi next time.
Sounds like a Sunday well spent!
Kobi Nu Shaak (P 152) to have with a bought in (Shame on us!!) Samosa and Mango Chutney. The crunch was just perfect and the fresh tastes were right for the summer evening. Thank you again.
Thank YOU for sharing, looks great!
Winter Veg Dhansak (P 52) made with half Winter and half Spring Veg. Took a good while to prepare and cook but worth every second. The floured onions from the oven were a magnificent addition. I cooked double the quantity as I guessed it would be fab. I wasn't wrong. Thanks again.
Yum, looks delicious!
My Punjabi mother would be impressed
I bet she would! Happy spicing!
A fabulous birthday FEAST with Tarka Dhal, Mixed Veg Curry, Date & Tomato Chutney and Brinjal Pickle, served with mini popadom, onion salad and chapati. Lockdown birthday... done right! :-) We bought the Curry Legends Cookbook and spices for our anniversary in May and are already on our second batch of spice blends!! Highly recommended.
AMAZING - great job!
Like the fiery flavours. Simply love it.
Great! Happy spicing!
These paneer and potato balls were amazing and really different to our usual curries! The sauce was really flavoursome and I loved the texture from the almonds. We also made plain and chilli naans which were fluffy and so fresh. Plus the tarka dhal is a delicious side and really easy recipe. This photo also features some homemade mango pickle and M&S's Indian selection bits (hopefully will make our own samosas soon!). Thanks Spicery!
Stunning! Our mouths are watering just looking at this picture, we wish we could try some- well done!
Delicious! We use paneer a lot and this has immediately become one of our favourite paneer recipes. Yum!
YUM- this rich and opulent dish is one of our favourites at Spicery HQ too!
P62 Hyderabadi Egg Curry. Used leeks in place of onion and added Prawns and mushrooms. As soon as it was served it vanished. That says it all. I will have to cook it again to see what happens next time.
Yummy a decadent dish of delights- happy spicing!
Good fresh flavours. We served it with Pea & Mint Rice (which needed a little more cooking than in the recipe). As there's only 2 of us we have plenty for another meal - yay!
YUM this looks incredibly fresh and vibrant and what a plus having some leftovers too, a win- win!
Perfect on its own or as a side. Simple, tasty and worth making.
Delish- everything looks so fresh and tasty!
Rich and hearty. Love the dopiaza! Served it with naan, beetroot pachadi and sambar rice. All delicious.
Great job, Laura - happy spicing!
It took some time but was definitely worth every second. A lovely roasted flavour and great on its own with a naan.
Nice one Denis, it's worth the effort! Happy Spicing!
Sweet potato korma (cauliflower korma), Tarka Dhal, mango chutney, kosambari. World vegetarian day! A favourite combination - so very good.
Looks like a fantastic way to celebrate World Vegetarian Day! Everything sounds delicious- plus what a spectacular view!
Cauliflower korma, beetroot pachadi, brinjal pickle and mango chutney. A winning combination. World vegetarian day.
YUM celebrating World Vegetarian Day in style!
The recipe suggested "raising the game" with Mixed Peppers. So I went half way I did the dish with a mixture of peppers and brtown Mushrooms and then added a Leek. Just delicious and I made so much there will be loads in the freezer for a "Rainy Day"
YUM looks like a brilliant Balti- spicy, rich and buttery!
A really complex deeply flavoured but mild sauce surrounding paneer and asparagus which you don’t find in many curries. I omitted the sugar but it was still sweet enough with the yoghurt and cream. Absolutely beautiful!
Oooh lovely this looks like a perfect Pasanda, we wish we could try some!
Paneer tikka masala and accompaniments, stunning!
Yum this looks like a perfect paneer tikka masala!
I had to substitute almonds for the cashews but it was still delicious, though a little on the sweet side with the added coconut milk. Topped off with a simple pickle that I borrowed from another recipe for added heat.
Yum this looks like a creamy, cauliflower delight!
Cooked the winter veg dhansak, cauliflower caldine, sag aloo, lime chutney, pilau rice, and many others.. We had a delicious feast and everything was easy and turned out just as the pictures in the cook book. Can't stop cooking these recipes now as thoroughly enjoyed by all. Never ordering a takeaway again as these recipes are so much nicer! I'm telling everyone about the kits. Easy to order refills. I had the veggie kit for Christmas and I must say it's one of the best presents I have received. I highly recommend that you try them as you do turn into a curry legend!!
A meat-free masterclass! What a great job you've done here - we're so glad you're loving your Curry Legend Veg kit and can't wait to see what you make next!
Part of today’s lunch extravaganza from the how to be a veg curry legend, page 42.
Great job, Steve - this looks really hearty and delicious! Happy spicing!
Wow!!! After a lot of humming and arring on whether to make this we decided to give it a go. It did not disappoint! The recipe was easy to follow and the smells coming from the pan brought the feeling of being back in a restaurant. From the first bite me and my wife wished we had cooked it sooner. If anybody is in two minds whether to try something different just go for it I’m sure you won’t disappointed. Will definitely be reordering this one in the not so distant future.
This looks delicious, Wade - really professional presentation too! We're so glad to hear that it went down a real treat. It's always great to try something new!
Blooming delicious
This looks fantastic - well done!
Delicious curry. We added a dhal as we didn't have a lot of lamb. It was delicious with the homemade naan too!
This looks delicious, Nicholas, especially that homemade naan - great job!
Spring veg madras
Looks really yummy - we hope you enjoyed it! Happy spicing!
Delicious!!! Served with butter chicken (but paneer instead of chicken) and kulchas (my favourite!)
Yum, this all looks amazing - great job! Butter paneer is just delicious!
1st recipe from my new book, (lovely gift from my dearest friend) Easy to cook and tasted amazing!
Looks great, Stuart - nice one! You're well on your way to becoming a Curry Legend!
Properly delicious and worth the effort!
This looks amazing, Lauren - we are so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed it!
Yummy and indulgent! Served with rice and date & tomato chutney
It certainly looks indulgent, rich and delicious! Great job with this one - happy spicing!
Really nice, personally I'd be tempted to add even more garlic next time to make it bangin!
No such thing as too much garlic in our opinion! Nice work, Lauren!
We both said this was better than a take away. The blends really do give you that rich depth of flavour and authentic taste.
Who needs takeaways when homemade curries look this good - great job, Claire!
I have made this a few times now and I love it. The garlic hit you get from the fried garlic slices is amazing.
Look at the crispiness on that fried garlic - delicious!
Bonnie’s first taste of paneer! It’s fair to say it was a hit. Also a hit with mummy and daddy as it got lots to greeny goodness into her! No adaptations needed to make it baby friendly! Another successful step in her curry legend training!
Oh we are loving seeing Bonnie's journey to becoming a Curry Legend! It certainly looks like she's enjoying that paneer!
Absolutely delicious curry. I will make this again and again. Incredible! The sauce is thickened with cashews nuts giving a wonderful flavour. Highly recommend!
Yum - this looks absolutely delicious, Cordelia - great work! Happy spicing!
Lovely stuff! Works really well with the veg raita
Looks delicious, Iain - we're loving that patterned bowl too!
Great flavours. Light fried breads were not at all heavy. The Barfi were so much more delicious than we expected.
What a feast! This all looks fantastic, Rebecca. Happy spicing!
This had an excellent what I call 'effort to deliciousness ratio'!! The dumplings were great, I used spelt flour (adding baking powder as raising agent) and the texture was nice & chewy, almost meaty which made it a good hearty dish. Served here with saag aloo and cabbage & pomegranate salad which I found to be a lovely combo!
This all looks incredible, Lauren - great job! It's really interesting to hear that you used spelt flour for the dumplings, sounds like it worked a treat!
Post cold green goodness from the Palak Paneer was just what the doctor ordered! A firm favourite for Bonnie!
Oh so cute! Hope she's feeling better after her cold - all of that spinach in the palak paneer will definitely help!
This has been a firm favourite with many of my family for a while. However this was the first time I had made it. It was very good indeed. I was able to buy some nice mushrooms and the recipe really did them justice. Thanks Spicery!
That looks like a rich, delicious Garlic Mushroom Balti - great job, Robin!
This was amazing! I made a vegan version by replacing the paneer with cubed parboiled celeriac and it tasted great - incredible how much flavour permeated the whole thing! Served with hot rajma masala and plain rice. Yum!
It looks delicious, Lauren - and we're impressed with your vegan freestyling! It's great to hear that this worked a treat!
From veg curries book
Yum - this looks delicious, Cordelia! Great job!
We deviated slightly from the recipe by replacing the chilli with cheese (not the most obvious swop!) but these sweetcorn fritter / pakoras were a hit!!!
Yum - they look delicious! We love the idea of including cheese to make it baby-friendly!
So tasty and easy to do! My brother said it was 'the best curry he's ever had'. I served it with the Theplas and a glass of dry Riesling
Wow, high praise indeed! It looks and sounds delicious, Emma - great job!
12/2/22 - easy enough to make. Nice with poppadoms
It's good to hear that you enjoyed this condiment, and we're loving these dipping bowls - the perfect thing for an Indian feast!
I've loved cooking from the mezze and two curry kits. Our three adult 'children' are all veggies, so I tweaked one of the recipes and cooked a veggie banquet to celebrate my 69th birthday. Pav Bhaji, Veggie Bhuna, Cauliflower Caldine and Dal Bukhara. All delicious. Just ordered the world curry and taco kits !
What a lovely family picture, and it's great to hear that our recipes featured in your birthday celebrations! Great job tweaking the recipes to make a veggie version. We're so pleased that all that the dishes went down a treat, and can't wait to see what you make with your new World Curries and Taco kits!
It’s so easy to make saag aloo - who knew?!
We did ;-) great job, Amy! Now that you know how simple this is, no doubt it will be on the side of all your curries in the future!
Out of this world flavours!
Looks deliciously vibrant, Poppy - great job!
Easy, tasty and as you can see, partners well with Cauliflower 65!
Yum - looks delicious! And doesn't battered, fried, spiced cauliflower go great with everything?!
Despite taking a long time this recipe was surprisingly simple to follow, and we made so much that it was perfect for leftovers as well. The crunch of the oniony top layer went perfectly with the fluffy rice, and it was a nice treat to find the eggs and potatoes as we dug in.
Yum - looks delicious, Charlotte! It's great to hear that the long cook time was worth the wait, and that you enjoyed digging through the rice for the egg and potato treasure (with leftovers to spare)!
I also made a few sides whilst cooking. Clockwise from the left they are …. Kachumber, a perennial favourite, brinjal pickle , a first and very tasty too, and last is cucumber and mint raita from memory but not hard to guess the ingredients…. All 3 complimented the balti and the veg curry!!
Here at the Spicery we think contrast and variety in a meal is key, and it looks like you nailed it here! Fresh, crunchy kachumber, tangy brinjal pickle, and creamy, cooling raita - all to compliment that rich balti! The perfect Curry Legend feast - well done!
This is an impressive looking dish to serve. It is also delicious. The outer crust was slightly hotter than I expected. It wasn't too hot for my wife, who has lower heat tolerance than I, and she really enjoyed it too.
We're so pleased to hear how much you both enjoyed this dish, Robin - it's certainly an impressive centrepiece at the dinner table!
One of these amazing recipes that gives tired veg at the bottom of the fridge the kiss of life! It comes with a 4/5 chilli heat rating for good reason. Tasty, tangy & hot!
A madras is definitely the best way to liven up that forgotten fridge veg and turn it into something delicious! This looks great, Robin - nice job!
A bit too sweet for me but the grandchildren loved it so it has to rate a "5". None left in any event.
Great to hear that your grandchildren loved this dish, Christopher - even if it was a little too sweet for your liking!
Final meal for my grandchildren on this visit - a winter warmer if ever they had one. Perfect with some rice and raita. They said they loved it but then they are very polite!!!! But it all went.
Great to hear that your grandkids polished this off and gave rave reviews!
Started with parsnips so found P 52 of the Veg book and off we went. As the oven was roasting away I quickly put in some Strange Taste Peanuts. Slightly over roasted the onions but they still all went. Thanks again 'Oh Miracle of Spicery'
Yum - a perfect meal for this time of year! Great job making use of the oven being on by chucking some of those delicious Strange Flavour Peanuts, too!
I loved the texture and taste of this aubergine dish. The aubergines were succulent and had a deep flavour.
We're really happy to hear how much you loved this tangy aubergine side dish - it looks great in your balti bowl!
My first few hours of fun with Curry Legend Veggie Table
Yum! Looks like a Legendary inaugural Veggie Table feast, happy spicing!
First attempt at gluten free Theplas, using a mix of Doves Farm GF plain flour, cornflour and gram flour.
They look great Linda - nice job adapting the recipe to make a gluten free version!
Great dish, served with Goan Brinjal and Cauliflower (& Mushroom) Caldine.
Looks like a fabulous veggie feast, Linda!
Quick easy and delicious side to break up the usual rice and bread. Also works well when clearing out the fridge as I threw in other veg like parsnips and carrots.
Great job using up your leftover veg to make this delicious side dish!
I enjoy cooking with spices and believe I know my way around a recipe. I am delighted with this selection of spices. They are blended beautifully and the recipe book is a delight. I love the complimentary dishes and particularly adore the breads. Thank you so much for creating a wonderful product. Barbara.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, Barbara - we're really happy to hear how much you're enjoying using the Curry Legend Veggie Table kit! Perhaps we'll see some photos of your curry creations and breads on our Wall of Fame soon? Happy spicing!
Really easy! I took the suggestion of using a tin of chopped tomatoes and a red pepper, with good quality eggs with nice yellow yokes. Absolutely fabulous, thank you. Paired it, as suggested with Mixed Veg Avial, and rice, which really worked well.
YUM! This looks egg-cellent, happy spicing!
Very tasty, but a little too sweet for us, try a bit less coconut? Paired with Tamatar Ka Kut, as suggested, and worked really well. Couldn't be easier, thank you.
It's brilliant you enjoyed this in combination with the Tamatar Ka Kut, happy spicing!
I bought this for my son - a real foodie . He loves it !
It's great to hear how pleased he was with his gift! We hope he enjoys cooking loads of delicious veggie dishes, and are sure he'll be a Curry Legend in no time!
This is one of my favourite side dishes, so easy & so very good for you.
It's great to hear how much you love this simple side dish, Andrea - it's certainly a good way to pack some vibrant veg into your meal!
Seen the recipe before but never had the right mix of ingredients. Now with excess carrots and parsnips, the time had come to make a Sambar. The powder was easy to mix and dribbling the last bit at the end a real treat. Lovely
Great to hear that you were finally able to make this sambar after eyeing up for a while - it's such a wholesome dish, and we're really pleased you enjoyed it!
Favourite paneer dish to date, and it’s quick to make!
Great to hear how much you loved this one, Linda - you can't go wrong with a classic tikka masala!
Wear plastic bags to stop your hands turning pink! After that it’s a simple, yet tasty dish
Haha - a great tip! We're glad to hear how much you enjoyed this vibrant, tasty side dish!
